39% from 3 for the season. Would be best on the Rockets...

seeing how PPat is putting up allstar numbers now, should the Rockets have kept him and extended his contract? Rockets would definitely have been contenders with PPat going forward. (pun intended)

Sometimes I wonder about the people in this thread. Is PPat the forward of the future? **** it PPat for Pope.

This trade cannot fully be judged for at least a couple years because we don't know how Robinson will develop, but I gotta say....the trade is definitely not making Morey look as smart as it once seemed.

    Miss Patterson's mid-range game + defense.

When is it ever smart to trade away both the players for the same position on a playoff contending team? You destroy the rotation. Being around coaches and how the cling to the consistency in shortening their rotations come playoff time I can only imagine how Mchale must feel.

I personally was always under the belief that we should have not traded Marcus Morris for a 2nd rounder because that deal would have been there any time we wanted.

However, Morey clearly thought Patterson had peaked (which is very possible), so he made the move for Robinson who he clearly believed has much more potential than Patterson.

Making the playoffs is nice, but that's not what Morey is shooting for. He obviously wants playoffs, but he wants much more than that down the line.

Whether he made the right or wrong decision is up for grabs at the moment, but if we're talking purely logic, there's nothing wrong with what he did. He made a move he believed would give us a better shot at a top level power forward.

But I won't deny that Patterson is a much better fit for the offense we run than Robinson it looks like. But if a coaching change comes along, then who knows...

Remember when Rockets traded Rafer Alston for an injury prone 3rd string PG in Lowry? People wanted Morey's head

Remember when Rockets traded Aaron Brooks for a backup PG that had one GREAT game in the Playoffs against the Spurs in Dragic? What the hell is Morey thinking?

Even when he did the same thing with Ariza when he had a very good playoff run with the Lakers and it didn't pan out here with the Rockets: Ariza was gone the next season. If Morey realizes his mistake he doesn't let it affect the Rockets for long.

I think Morey deserves some slack. The way he gets raked over the coals after one trade that doesn't initially get immediate returns is ridiculous.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I was, and still am, a believer in the Robinson deal. I just am not 100% confident in it like I was when the deal went down, but I still believe it'll work out down the line. You're right....Morey deserves some benefit of the doubt due to his track record.

I still think we'll make playoffs just fine.

If he isn't concerned about the playoffs then why is he and both organization so fixated on another 14th pick they will probably flip for a 2nd rounder some time later? Thats not how you run things in the NBA, being a mediocre team is the worst possible thing you can do. The draft lottery system is there for just that, teams that need to get better suck and get their players through the draft. The catch is that during FA signings not many people will want to sign with a team that can't make the playoffs (the last 4 years speak volumes on this point...). If they are going to suck, you do it right. What you are doing in this scenario is eliminating the attraction to the team by putting them in the lottery and giving them the worst pick out of it as well.

That was completely different. Lowry was a good player many people had scouted, I don't know how many people thought it was a bad trade but it also gave AB the chance to start since it was clear he was outplaying alston. What we had happen was trading both AB and Alston away.
