I understand the rim and corner threes are more efficient, but can you win with no mid range game? Lets look at the champions: Bulls - MJ had a pretty good mid range shot Rockets - Hakeem could knock down that 15 footer Spurs - Duncan could knock down that 15 footers Lakers - Kobe has pretty solid mid range game. Mavs - Dirk 2006 Heat - Wade's mid range game isn't that good so this might be the one team we can look at 2013 Heat - While Lebron's Game has improved it kind of left him during the finals, but in general Lebron has improved a lot in this aspect. So I think we can look at those two heat teams. Is that the exception or can it be duplicated?
Lin hit at least a couple mid range jumpers. He might actually be the best mid range shooter for the Rockets.
Lin has an amazing midrange game. Never takes them. Opts instead to drive into the paint and get stuffed by post men.
I would say Parsons is but unfortunately he doesn't take many of them this season. He took more last season as a rookie.
no you can't. THANK YOU for starting a thread on this, I was going to do the same exact thing if I still had privileges. The game is too dynamic to only shoot from 3 or at the basket...unless you have a great C like Yao. The midrange is unbelievale at opening your offense and making it unpredictable.
The Rox are a gimmick team plain and simple. 3s and layups and thats it. They are so predictable at this point. Just clog the lane and run them off the three line. Rox not helping themselves either on the other end of the floor consistently but that's another story.
We can't win a championship with our current roster so it's fruitless to compare us to championship teams right now. Our goal, realistically, isn't to win a championship this year. It's to make the playoffs and to try to steal some games maybe. This style is best for that right now. Once we fill out the roster and our guys develop some more, that's the time to start discussing what championship basketball is.
well statistically if you're going to take a midrange shot you could step 4 feet back and get an extra point....More points = BETTER!!!
I was going to create the same thread, but choose not to after second thoughts. Our deficit in the first half seems to be an issue of Dmo's inconsistent outside shooting. I remember multiple times Dmo got an open look outside, but instead of just take it he choose to pass it to a teammate with somebody guarding. This screwed up the whole offensive system. And later he's hesitantly shooting but can't make them. The reason I pick Dmo is because GSW actually played very good defense, so most of our poor shooting is not just an off night for us. On the other hand, Dmo passed out or shoots when he's pretty open most of the time.
