This. To be honest, I really don't think the lack of TOR or ORL or MIL on national TV has to do mainly with big markets. Sure, the size of the market definitely factors in, but the records count more often than not. LAC and NY is on ESPN because they're both in the thick of the playoff race(s), within their own conferences. NY is three ahead of the 5 seed, and only a half game back behind the 2, if my math is right, while LAC is battling with MEM and DEN for HCA.

in fairness, most of these games were scheduled at the beginning of the season. it's a combination of markets, superstars, matchups, and ultimately- ratings. as it turns out, I think the Heat/Raptors game would have been the best game for a national audience today. ABC/ESPN didn't know Miami would be on the verge of tying the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history or that Toronto would trade for Gay and at least make the rest of their season exciting (despite their losing record) the Lakers will have 16 games on ABC/ESPN the Heat, Thunder, and Knicks - 15 Clippers-14 Bulls - 12 the Celtics,-11 Nuggets-9 Spurs-9 Nets-9 Mavericks-8 Grizzlies-7. and at the end of the day, the Rockets got 6. not bad for Harden and Lin's first year. expect more next year. PPat was good for the Rockets now, but what about the the future? I guess in a lot of peoples eyes PPat was the Rocket's future forward. Everyone angry at Morey for making a move that he admittedly said was going to make the Rockets worse; but made the move to make the Rockets better for the future. all you guys pining for an ok Forward is ridiculous.
