SAS almost always takes the side of the black athlete, coach, or personnel.

Look at all the athletes he hates on the most in that show:

    Tebow
    Lin
    Pacquiao

anybody who watches first take and with a modicum of perceptual ability can see that SAS is a RACIST, at the very least afro centric.

That's what I see from him as well. He hates on Asian athletes constantly, followed by some White athletes, but of course, some people still believe in the notion that "Blacks aren't racist."

At least with racist Whites, they don't try to hide their bigotry under the cloak of 'I'm a minority, so I can never be a racist and spew whatever racist thoughts that I can come up with' bull that some Blacks like to pull. He's as bad as Jemele Hill and Jason Whitlock in that regard!

Wait hold up. Just because he is afrocentric doesn't make him a racist. Stephen A has said that he defends black athletes publicly but that doesn't make him a racist. Just makes him afro-centric.

If a White person was 'White-centric,' the media would've have field day with that one!

You can't use the exact same standard with Whites and Blacks. Otherwise, it degenerates into a "Where's White History month?" stupidityfest.

Though I think that SAS is a loudmouth who's completely wrong on Lin for suspicious reasons, I do appreciate attempts to provide an "Afro-centric" perspective in a world that often ignores the viewpoints of Black people and other minorities.

    is there really a difference?

afro centric is just a politically correct word for racist black guys.

after the Rockets tore up the knicks SAS actually said on first take Lin would probably be a star in a few years.

SAS rips Lin but then in order to cover himself from future ridicule or to never be wrong about anything he says stuff like he sucks but he could be good in the future.

that way if the player does suck SAS can say see i was right, if the player doesnt suck, SAS can say yea but i predicted this when i said he could be good in a year or two.

    classic talking pinhead maneuver.

    Rob Parker agrees

ESPN seems to encourage black analysts who are racist to try and push an agenda, i mean its obvious they have morning walkthrough meetings before they go on live. They know exactly what they are gonna say, and the producers dont bat an eyelash.

ESPN orginally didnt suspend Rob Parker for the "cornball brother" remark, which leads me to believe that ESPN either encouraged or knew he was gonna say it. It wasnt until the outrage from viewers that Rob Parker was suspended and then ultimately fired from his job

I don't know what the official definition of the term "Afro-centric" means, but I don't think it's right to equate it with Black racism.

The media is not neutral. It is White-centric. Afro-centrism is simply a counterbalance which can, at times, veer off into racism.

Anytime somebody mentions Lin to SAS, it's a direct insult to his pride. In the midst of Linsanity, SAS was the only one who continually said the kid "wasn't for real." Then after the Lakers' game when Lin dropped 38, he shut his pie hole.

In the offseason, he championed Felton over Lin. We all know how that turned out.

And when Skip Bayless informed SAS that Lin scored 38 pts on the number one ranked Spurs this season without Harden, he downplayed Lin and said Lin was supposed to distribute the ball not score. I guess SAS didn't know Lin also had 7 assists in that game . . .

This. particularly in sports. Even though there is a predominance of african americans in the NBA how they are portrayed is very different from how white people are portrayed. Blacks are called selfish or thugs etc. How many white guys are giving those labels by the media?

Stephen A is biased but he isn't a racist. I believe Stephen A also used to be overly critical on Yao in preference of black centers in the same vein as he is with Lin. This is coming from someone who dislikes stephen a & is black.

Pretty obvious it sounded like a guy that knows he's wrong but needed to make himself sound 'smart' despite the fact. Most TV personalities are like this. Why do any of you sound surprise.
