Thanks for stating facts. My biggest concern right now is Lin's conditioning on B2B games. He plays good (if not great) after a lot of rest, but he plays downright terrible the next day on a B2B. Once he'll improve there, pretty sure we won't see any Lin doubters on here anymore.
Lol!!!! Buddy, you have no idea. Lin could shoot 50% from 3, be a better a floor general than CP3 at his best, and you'll still hear that Lin's doing a "bit" better but that he's still inconsistent, that he can't go left, can't dribble up the court without getting stripped, and can't defend anyone. I guarantee it. Let's say he shoots 100% from 3 in the next 10 games. Noone will say "wow, his shot improved a lot, maybe it really was just the injury." Nope, you'll hear "Does anyone else cringe when he shoots? He seems to be shooting a bit better but it just means that he's inconsistent. I still think he's average at best. Still can't defend anyone. Let's get Jennings!" It's like some of my friends, who just hates anything Mac or the PS3. It's an XBOX world and PS3s are apparently junk, I guess.
15 pg better than Jeremy (Paul, Parker, Curry, Westbrook, Irving, Rondo, Lowry, Williams, Lawson, Holiday, Lillard, Jack, Vasquez, Nash, Rubio, Dragic...)????? come on, I don't think so. - outplayed list Lowry, Rubio ( also in NYK) - question mark list (current Nash, Jack who?) - based on their face to face stats, quite even list curry (Lin 19/7.7 vs curry 20/7.7 this season, and 3-0), vasquez - not his fan list Dragic anyways, IMO Jeremy should be in the list~
Yea even statistically, Jeremys better than Lowry. And jeremys stats dont even show how good he really is
What's there to "break it to me"? I argue that Lin isn't good enough to be a volume shooter. You basically sited stats that says he's not a volume shooter. I guess I should say thank you for confirming my post? For comparison, Delfino is shooting 55TS% on 13FG/36minutes. If you think Morey is satisfied with our starting PG making $8mil/yr shooting at Delfino level(both percentage and volume), then you have no idea who Daryl Morey is. Yeah, well. Maybe you should send Jeremy Lin a letter telling him he needs to play like he did last year. Because if he does that in the playoffs, I smell 1st round upset.
You wanna guess how many PGs in the league have a 55+TS% with 13 or more FGA per game? 4! Kyrie, Parker, Curry, and Deron. In fact, there are only 9 total guards in the league who are putting up these numbers! Kyrie is a stud shooter and has no one else to pass to...Parker may be the 2nd best PG in the league when he's healthy, and a top 10 player...Curry is the best shooter in the league, and Deron is still a damn good player when healthy. So really, it's a lots harder than you think to be a PG that can efficiently put up a lot of shots.
Haters gonna hate, huh? Well I can't argue with you there. Just trying to be optimistic, that's all. Why can't we all just get along?
Oh, and if you wanna go 13FGA/36min with a 55%TS, there's only 8 total PGs who have these numbers, 2 of which are backups playing inferior competition.
I don't see where he confirmed your post. Stop moving the goalposts. You said he's not good enough to get more shots until Lin at least has an above league average TS%, which you stated as 55% TS. He said he shots above 55% TS ever since that horrible November saved 2-3 games. FYI, league average TS% for a PG with 30+ minutes of playing time is 53.6%. Lin's at 53.3% for the entire season so far, so he's not that far off that mark. *Not saying Lin should get more shots, imo. I think he's doing fine for now with the shots he gets and as a guy who doesn't fit well with Harden.
if you think Morey wanted a volume shooter and went out to sign Lin, then you have no idea who Daryl Morey is.
The stats I cited were to persuade you that Lin was capable of being a high efficiency volume shooter, if that is what the team needed. He showed it in NY and he showed it in the past few months here in Houston. Whether or not Lin should be a volume shooter in this offense is debatable. I would argue that the only time Lin should be taking more shots in the Rockets' offense is if Harden was out with an injury. Your other argument that the value of a point guard's contract is predicated on shooting is dubious, as there are plenty of point guards who make as much as or more than Lin and shoot at the same level or worse than him (Jameer Nelson, 50.8 TS% on 14FGA/36 makes $8 million, Conley 53.9 TS% on 12 FGA/36 makes $8 million, Rondo 51.6 TS% on 12FGA/36 makes $11 million). I think Morey of all people knows that there is more to a point guard's value than just their shooting ability. Lastly, I wanted to address your previous assertion that Lin's driving was worse than "hugely inconsistent", which I forgot to do in my previous reply. In February, data from the multi-camera player/ball movement tracking system that the majority of the league uses revealed that Lin was 9th in the league (among the teams that use the cameras) in drives per game, and that he was as efficient as Tony Parker on those drives (1.32 points per possession).
have you seen his posts on this thread? he's on some weird anti asian clutch fan crusade. you're the one that needs to check yourself and your facts. If im a dbag then you must be one muggy c*nt. wtf does that have to do with the poster being a racist?
There is a world of difference between a genetic anomaly who, despite being an awesome human being, is essentially an athletic product of the Chinese communist government, and a homegrown Asian-American kid playing PG despite a lifetime of being stereotyped. If you can't see the difference, then you have no qualifications to talk/whine about race.
You know, claiming that you deserve to be impervious to charges of prejudice because you were just so tolerant and magnanimous to accept a single exceptional member of an outside group is pretty much the telltale sign of a prejudiced person. And trying to equate the "uphill" climb that straight white men have to face with those of women and minorities. Yeah, another red flag there.
