Friend of mine used to run the marketing in Hilton, he mentioned that one of their KPIs is the number of times Hilton or whatever campaign they run, appears in the media for free; media value is then tallied based on the cost involved if they were to undertake those same advertising and branding efforts. Considering how polarising/popular Lin is, I'm not surprised that their valuations have jumped so high.
