Big deal. The only winning streaks that matter are in the playoffs.

I think they will break it. And go much further. This Miami team is so good, so dominant. I am surprised this didn't happen sooner.

They aren't going for 22. They are going for 33.

When comparing the Rockets 22 games streak vs the Heat 21 game streak...
The Rockets were blowing people out by a big margin(double digit wins)...
This Heat team has had opponents that were close to beating them, but they just found a way to win down the stretch(including several comebacks)...which are signs of a really good team...

The secret to beating the Heat is probably to start fast...If a team cant do that, they dont have a chance at beating them right now. They are just closing well down the stretch...I can really see the streak going for a while longer...

Realistically...Miami's next biggest challenge will be the Spurs...

But everyone wants to be the streak buster...maybe it can be toronto or maybe Boston....bc this Heat team is on a real roll and has a very legit chance of breaking the Lakers record...

Actually after thinking about it ...it is a big deal...as other have pointed out...every year there is a winner for the championship, but not every year do you see streaks that have gotten this far...that is far more remarkable as a stat than people give credit for...

Who cares? Records are meant to be broken, especially second-place records. Sure, it was amazing to watch at the time, but that's in the past and we're in the here and now. If people start killing themselves over this loss, then survival of the fittest thrives once again. All I want to see is another Rockets' championship and not another reminder of how a team didn't win one after going on a 22 win streak

Their streak isn't valid or worth mentioning.

The refs CLEARLY won them at least two games during this streak just so Stern could give the NBA some more publicity.

whoa, whoa. Did you just call the Heat a better franchise than the Rockets?! Too far. I accept that Miami has a better team and players than the Rockets do, but to bury the Rockets over 2 free agent signings is a foolish. While we may not have a championship-caliber team, we do have a first-rate franchise that is respected by players and organizations alike. There are many fanbases who would love to have the franchise that we do. Back up, sir.

PS- so what if our record gets broken, doesn't matter. It's a second place record in a season where we lost in the first round of the playoffs.

It's not ironic, it's coincidental. Irony would be the Celtics losing their 22-game streak against us.

Just because something is rare, does not make it remarkable or a big deal.

Say a team wins 5 straight games on buzzer beaters. That's rare and I'm sure no team has done it, but it's not a big deal or that remarkable. It's neat to talk about, but that's it.

Shane Battier has no chance of doing that without Lebron and Wade. Keep that in perspective.
A role player is important, but he is not bigger than a star.
    You are biased.

hey has anyone mentioned that our record was only second place, just thought i would throw that out there, that its not first place, its second place. behind first place is second and the rockets record is second place. i didnt know if anyone mentioned that yet... that the rockets record is second place and not first place. 2 comes after 1, then 3 is next and right now its second place..

Thats what a big deal really is...the rarity of an event...like a comet flying by the sky...a new pope...those things are rare events...a 22 game streak is a rarity in the NBA...and it kinda is a big deal...bc it just doesnt happen every day...

Actually, that would be a big deal... And pretty remarkable.

I don't understand why everyone is trying to down play that 22 game win streak. No they didn't set the record, but 22 in a row has only been done by one other team in the history of the ENTIRE LEAGUE. IMO, that is a big deal.

The Heat will likely tie and break the Rockets mark, and push them back to third. Hats off to them. But Jan, Feb, and March of 2008 was a fun time for Rockets fans.

Here's how I feel better about the streak:

    1. If you compare our roster then to the Heat's current roster, we were dismantling teams with much, much less talent.

    2. Our 2 "Superstars" were chronically injured and we had to rely on a team game. Miami relies on the Dwayne-Lebron show. Take those two away from that team on a given night, and you're lacking a lot of heart and toughness. Say what you want about their limitations, but Rafer Alston came to play every night and Chuck Hayes was instrumental in our success.

    3. Yes, I'm annoyed that Spoelstra(sp?) may get this winning streak under his record. I think he's a great coach, but then again, I could win at least 20 games with Lebron on my team. :p

    4. Leastern Conference. haha

Ehhhh....their winning streak is impressive either way, but just so you know, Paul Pierce is going to end that baby in a few days. Promise.

It's sad the heat haven't already broken this record
For an organization that restructured their entire team to sign 3 superstars you'd think they'd be able to win 22 straight

When the rockets it did it we did it with a team effort, yao and tracy were both in and out during the streak.
even if they do beat it
the rockets streak will always mean more in my opinion
