The Rockets are one of the most well received teams in the league. It's largely because of Lin, but the team is generally likeable as a whole.

your correct, the problem with houston is the suites.Thats why it appears that no one gets there till the 3rd and 4th quarter though winning has sure helped that problem out recently

It's a superstar driven league, and the Lakers are possibly the most popular team in the league because they keep bringing in superstars.

It's not that hard to understand.

Kinda hard to fall in love with your team if all you see on tv is the Miami, Knicks, Celtics, or Lakers.

I hate it when the Laker trolls are at the game...but imagine what the Warrior crowd goes thru or the Denver crowd or any of the other west coast teams go thru when the Lakers roll into town...dont blame the fans, but blame the media. Want to quite the Laker trolls, beat them when your playing on your home court. And dont let a team that was barely in contention, dominate your bigs on your home court...

Lakers and Celtics sadly are the two most storied franchises in league history. And until there are a new collection of talented teams to challenge that, we will continue to expect mediocrity...

The Celtics are on the verge of extinction(when Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett hang it up), but i dont see that with the Lakers(Kobe may leave, but they still will have Howard...)

It is only natural. Fans appreciate the excellence of the Lakers organization. Thank you, Dr. Buss.

I'll judge them and judge them harshly for it. Unless the fan haas some sort of tie back to that city, the fan is a weak ass bandwagonner for choosing to root for the popular team over the team in their hometown.

Look, I have no problem with the fans that show up at the Toyota Center that grew up in SoCal (or their parents grew up in SoCal) that are cheering for the Lakers. But, these weak fans that are just fans because the Lakers are the cool team....screw them.

Maybe I'm just different. But I grew up with a generation of kids that were blown away by Jordan and wanted to be him BUT they hated him and the Bulls with a passion and cheered against them because they won so much.

    This.

It's no excuse for the team to perform poorly. But it really tells you the quality of fanhood when the home team doesn't get half of the fans in the house. It is definitely not good for the league.

At rocket games, during he first quarter, laker fan is quite loud. But if its a close game in the fourth, the rockets fan drown them out, unless the system hits a shot, it gets quiet. Or if Marc gasol hits a shot, and it's quiet I ask why no cheers for gasol.

Indiana has always been a small market team but has survived and been reasonably successful thanks to their loyal fans ! Think back to the Reggie Miller days, the difference between the home support then and now is crazy.

That's what 2 decades of average basketball does to a franchise.

Uh, the same Kobe that wanted a trade out of a struggling Lakers franchise in the mid 2000s?

And I'm sure Harden would care too. The thing is, the Rockets aren't on top of their division, nor are they one of the top 3 teams in their respective conference. Unlike Indiana.

Good for George Hill, for noting the lack of Pacers fans.

I believe he's talking about booing and cheering. I don't think Kobe or Harden would care.

Nor do I think George Hill really cares. I don't think this is a one game issue, they've looked mentally gassed since Danny Granger got re-injured. I hope they can get a grip soon. As a Pacers fan, i'm feeling pretty uneasy lately and players looking for these excuses only gives more reason to worry.

IMO, you have to be kind of a ****ty person to go a game in your hometown and boo the home team. I mean, it's ok to cheer for your team but it just seems wrong to boo the team that has a presence in the community. "Laker Nation" (or really "Kobe Nation") is the worst example of this at the moment although it was just as bad during MJ's heyday. It basically shows you who is a bandwagon fan and who isn't.

I bet David Stern couldn't give 2 sh* ts about it.

Its just what he always wanted. A couple of glamour teams and a farm system built around them.
