You actually started a post that is going to call someone else immature with the phrase "Dude omg, the only teenager here is you,"? That is hilarious. I know you are but what am I?!?!?!! You honestly contribute nothing to this website.

I'd be willing to talk basketball with anyone who is willing to be reasonable.

If you think this team is underachieving and our coach is doing a terrible job, which you are clearly one of these people, you are an unreasonable person who's opinion will not be influenced by any lucid argument I would ever make - your heels are dug in and your mind is made. That's fine, but don't be surprised when people don't engage you in any meaningful way.

In the meantime, I'll laugh at every post you make about McHale and Lin. Probably comment on a few of them too.

First, don't think you are qualified to talk basketball when you come up with stuff like how can tension exists between fans and a coach. Second, McHale has never done anything to prove to any of us that he is doing a good job yet based on his past results. And its YOU guys who have given him a complete pass no matter what the results have been. So I will laugh in your face about that. Third, you are making a mockery of yourself by coming up with random strawman arguments because you are unable to actually come up with solid counter points.

Why would my opinion (right or wrong) about the fan's interactions have anything to do with how much I know about the game of basketball? You are reaching with everything you say.

I played basketball in college, I think I know more about it than a lot of people on this board. If you want to talk to me about top blocking the corner in an elbow series set, I would love to discuss that with you. I doubt you even have any basketball knowledge to offer, but I could be wrong. If you do, and you still post the way you do, I would say shame on you for being so divisive while having the ability to contribute positively.

Lastly, do you know what strawman means? I think you're having a very tough time with the concept or at least the application of the term. What did I incorrectly build up as your opinion and then attack?

Played basketball has nothing to do with common sense. So you think the coach is above criticism for calling Lin out publicly for trying to go Linsanity at the expense of the team? For benching Lin in the 4th Q when he is playing well, etc. Heck I heard criticisms of McHale when Parsons was not getting his shots in the 4th Q. Why are you taking so personally that Lin fans criticize the coach when it is practically the norm in every single board out there.

And yes, if you come back and tell me tensions only exists in fan's delusional head because the coach did not engage with them is just borderline idiotic or you just don't follow sports.

Strawman: when one side attacks a weak position―the "straw man"―not held by the other side. i.e. you countering that majority of the GARM was for Dragic over Lowry fan when I clearly said Lowry fans didn't like it. Got it? Maybe not.

So you attack my basketball knowledge and move on without making any attempt to engage me and find out if I actually know anything? I think most people who have read my posts realize I'm knowledgeable about basketball and willing to engage people about the game. You, on the other hand, don't seem willing to talk about actual basketball related items at all.

That's not a straw man for the record, it's called a difference in opinion. No matter what side of that you fall on, me saying that Lowry fans in general were not vocally dissatisfied with McHale because of his playing time is not setting up an opinion for you and knocking it down. It's my contention of history. Like I said - at best a difference in opinion, even though I believe you're wrong with believing that Kyle's fans were pissed at McHale last year before he came out and said that stuff in the paper.

So you call someone r****ded (a slur of its own) and are nerd raging all over your computer keyboard, but they are a bad person because you labeled them a "racist" without them having made any statement about race?

Check your premise homie, ad hominem attacks like that reveal more about yourself than they do about the other person. And I'm pretty sure you're a douche bag.

I think it might be a good time to lock this thread, the exchanges are getting waaay off topic and a bit too heated.

Anyone who thinks that criticizing the coach of the rockets on a rockets discussion board means that a poster doesn't know about basketball is a r****d. The players and coaches and GM are fair game. That's the whole POINT of the board.

No, the point of this board is NOT making the players and coaches "fair game." Do you even know what "game" means here?

If you think this board was created to take shots at the players and coaches, you are here for the wrong reason.

As for my "race-baiting," I've read enough posts here saying "Don't let them bully u coz ur Asian. McFail must go!" This is the team of Yao Ming, noobs. You missed years of Asian liberation on this board while you were not giving a **** about Clutchfans yet. Then you come here as if you're gonna liberate Clutchfans in the name of Asian people. Your ignorance makes you feel brave. You're not liberators: you're latecomers to the party. Yao made your "progressive thought" irrelevant years ago, you just weren't paying attention. Clutchfans was.

It's sad that many posters darn near purposefully discredit Lin here, then blame it all on LOFs like if they weren't here, they'd be a model of fairness to Lin. What may be worse is that it's often not even intentional! They just can't see it. To posters like meh, they'll never see it. To them, Lin's gotta go cuz he sucks and they say they want to see improvement, but when he shows it, in 3 pt shooting as an example or on defense, they just can't/won't see it. He's been shooting at near 40% from 3 for months now. His defense has been very good, great, in fact for months now. Didn't Lin pretty much play better than or at least play even with Rubio, Dragic, Curry quite comfortably without going out of range of his skillset just the last couple of weeks? It wasnt' even like he was "hot" or anything. That's just who he is. And now we need an upgrade in the pg position cuz that's our weak spot? Is that what you've been seeing? Cuz I'm seeing Lin getting better before my eyes. His shots have been money for a while now. His defense has noticeably jumped several notches. But of course, meh, Karolik, iJHolmes, etc. can't see it. Everyone's better than Lin to them. What a joke.

Straight up, all the weaknesses of his, his defense, his aggressiveness, his jumpshot, his midrange, his turnovers, his left, have improved to a point where almost any ijut who watches basketball should take notice. But I guess not.

Hey mchale is relativity new and inexperienced as a coach with no proven track record. Give him a break , the man is not going to pour his soul out to us, he did some boneheaded mistakes. But like lin i think he is growing and learning also. I was pretty mad about the crazy lin benching and lin doubting . But it looks like thats all behind us now, lets move on. No point b****in like a bunch of old ladies or grandpas.

They are both going to fumble and win together , but at least its not regressing and completely broken . The trend reflects a hopeful upward growth here.
