Love is extremely talented, but injury-prone sooooo often, overpriced. I just dont see him fitting with the Rockets, and his cost is much too high to seriously consider. For all he brings to the game, his numbers are violently skewed upward because he plays for such an embarassment of a franchise and takes twice as many shots as anyone else, and is the only one standing under the basket for the rebound. His numbers are inflated because of his environment. Talented absolutely, but totally overhyped. I like the idea of the Rockets pursuing him less and less everyday. It took 5 years to recover from the last 2 overpriced, injury-riddled stars we had. Lets not do that again.

You could also instantly get a horrible hole in our frontcourt offense cuz he's so injury prone.

Don't forget why the Sixers are at where they are now. Or to a lesser degree, the Mavs and the Lakers. Or how about the TWolves themselves if they have had a healthy Love this season?

From the result of the poll, we can also see that the majority of our fans here would like to see how much these current core players could grow to greatness together, probably because they also understand team chemistry could be just as important to the team's success as the individual talent of the players.

5 star thread, OP point is right on target. It's been happening since 2001. Dan Langi, Tierre Brown, Bosjan Nachbar, Bryce Drew, V-span, that's just from the top of my head.

    Makes clutchfans interesting. :)

    Parsons isn't overvalued.

    The FACTS:

    2nd year player
    Rookie Contract still
    2012-2013 stats: mins: 36.3 fg%: 48.5 ft% 70.9 3pt% 39.3 pts: 15.3 rpg: 5.3 asp: 3.6

He is young and will still get better, is the only logical conclusion.

Tell me a player at his position in the league that has better value other than Lebron and Durrant?

And if Asik can get in better shape next year to average around 38 mins/game, even without improving, he would be a 14pts 15 rpg Center for 8.3mil a year. Where else can you find that?

But I fully expect him to improve over the summer and into next year with his second year of starting.

Unless we get Dwight Howard, I don't see Asik leaving this team. Even if we get Dwight, Asik could possibly stay.

So ultimately, Parsons and Asik are VERY VERY hard to replace at their current VALUES.

    At first I read that as 36.3 fg% 48 ft% 71% 3PT% 39.3Pts 15.3rpg and 5.3asp lol

Not particularly relevant, SF wasn't exactly a need for Presti, so it was never going to be a sticking point.

It is NOT a question of who is 'greater' - Parsons or KLove...
The question is which is better: Parsons + another 12M in cap space or KLove? If Parsons was makin the same $ as KLove - then I'd say ship him - easier to find a good sf than a good pf... but that ain't the case...

same argument against DHo (for me at least..)
Asik @ 8m or DHo @25M.... i'd rather spend the 17M diff on a pf... heck, we could even afford a KLove with that kind of money! ;)

Are these poll results serious with 60% saying Parsons/Asik are untouchable for Love?

You guys are either underestimating/not remembering how good Love is when he's healthy, and probably also underestimating how good Morey is at acquiring good role players.

Oh well, thankfully Morey would made that trade in an instant and never look back. You need multiple stars to be able to contend nowadays, and if you have the opportunity to get another one, it’s a NO-BRAINER to jump on it. We’d have an incredible foundation in place with those two and Morey would be able to fill the blanks around them easily.

Screw Kevin Love. If you're going to all in for a PF, it better be LaMarcus Aldridge. He's miles the player Love is.

Morey wouldn't be stupid to trade our 2 best defenders for Love. Are you serious who the hell is going to play defense? Keep dreaming not happening

    1) I'm going to assume you meant "He's miles ahead the player Love is"...

    2) That's just bonafide ignorance. "Miles ahead"? C'mon....stop being ridiculous...

I'd trade Asik and Parsons and more for Love, but Minn wouldn't do it. It's more about the supply and demand. Players on similar level of Parsons and Asik are abundant in this league if you think about overall production on both ends. Parsons will get paid when we are contending in a few years.

Love is an legit young allstar, which is extremely difficult to find. Remember he's more valuable than Harden before this season, and probably still is right now considering he's played at star level for more than one full season. Heck, he's widely considered as a superstar before injury, and the injury type has no long term effect and he's young.
