The first thought that came into my mind when I heard that statement was "Does he mean not to take any credit for the adjustments he made to turn the game around and owe it all to the players' effort?"

Like to hear your interpretation, guys.

That is exactly what he was doing. It's just amazing that Clutchfans continue to try and find ways to slam the coach. He's trying to say give credit to the players, they're the ones on the floor making it happen. Damn, Clutchfans can be a bad place at times.

Yeah, we had an incredible comeback win and the fire McHale thread gets bumped.... How can people not understand how Rockets' fans tend to hate a lot of Jeremy Lin's fans when they're primarily the ones (Sports2012 and BleedRed, por ejemplo) doing this ****?

We win: "Well we didn't win by enough, and played XYZ should've been playing, I don't care what hindsight has to say about this"

We lose: "Substitution patterns ZOMG! If only that idiot had some other people on the court... clearly with hindsight everyone can see he ****ed up."

You, superstar, and others need to get this in your head, most Lin fans don't like McHale the same reason Lowry fans hated McHale. Its as simple as that. Its not blind hate either, never had any issues with McHale before, McHale's actions and words created this tension.

I don't see any tension whatsoever in their relationship. I think what you, superstar, actually mean, is that McHale's actions and words created tension with YOU because you are overly sensitive and protective of a person who needs no protection.

And I was here last year, there were not Lowry fans going wild on this board with McHale hate like there is this year with you all. Lowry and McHale's relationship wasn't even noted as being bad until Kyle came out after the season and said that stuff in the paper. Until then, Kyle was ill and not playing, why would people have been going off on the coach because their guy was sick?

First of all, there isn't any proof that there is any kind of rift between McHale and Morey. I suppose people can try and twist what someone says into what they want to believe. But, I don't see McHale and the front office not seeing eye to eye.

Secondly, I think McHale talks a lot about this team being young because it's the truth and he is trying to make the reporters and fans understand that young players aren't going to perform like veterans.

Thirdly, the only way McHale isn't the coach of this team next year is if he chooses to leave, but why would he do that? The Rockets are a good team and they are only going to get better. McHale will not be going anywhere.

Lastly, McHale has been doing a great job of developing young talent. The only older player to get any significant minutes this year has been Carlos Delfino, everyone else would be considered young and developing. He played PPat and Morris over the rookies, but they were still young and developing.

dude no one knows what Lin thinks, I really hope his comment around continuing to play his brand of basketball was telling, anyway I meant its the tension/anger/disappointment by Lin fans towards the coach duh. And this fire coach thread can be found in every nba board out there. So stop making it sound like Lin fans are the exception.

It was AFTER Lowry came back, there were people who were upset when Dragic slowly replaced Lowry. I was a Lowry fan and I hated to see him lose minutes, still think he is better. That said, Lin just has a much bigger and more passionate fanbase than Lowry did, is all.

So the coach started a bad relationship and created tension with a bunch of people he's never seen, met, or heard of by simply answering questions in an ambiguous/sarcastic/sardonic way? Talk about your overly sensitive children running around with such fractured egos that they allow someone else to dictate their sense of self.

This is complete revisionist history. If I'm understanding this correct, after Lowry came back, people on the board went nuts because he didn't get his starting role back? That simply did not happen.

OMG... yes there IS such a thing as tension between a player and the fans (TMac and his I am in I am out), coach and the fans (Ron Wilson Maple Leaf) and YES even tension between ownership and the fans (Knicks during Isaiah Thomas). If you don't know this, you dont follow sports. Sense of self? ego? wtf.
