Even the knicks fans dont take what SAS says seriously. But except for him I like NY radio. Those guys are funny and pretty objective
Why do you guys get worked up over this? He made a bold statement, a guy like Stephen A isn't going to back track, he'll defend his stance, no matter what because those "experts" don't want to admit if they are wrong or off base.
From what I heard SAS makes a couple of million doing what he does, so he does push the envelope to generate attention. It's like he and Bayless, figure out which side they are gonna take before every show. It's the same reason why I don't pay much attention to BleacherReport. Seems like they got a bunch of internet reporters putting up articles with EVERY possible viewpoint. Lin's great, Lin's suck, Lin will be a star, Lin will be dumped. The main objective is to get the ratings with outlandish dish.
The other day Tony Kornheiser seemed unimpressed by the Rockets' 22 game win streak. Let's all rage about that.
too much noise... hard to hear anything except "pinky" ... "pinky" ... "don't have an explanation for..."
Why do people listen to him anyway I mean he's not an analyst, he's not exactly the most knowledgeable about anything in sports. He's literally there to yell at people and gain ratings for ESPN.
He is a hater. Now his excuse is Lin benefits from Harden, where was Harden and any other superstar during Linsanity? But wait, oh that's because of DAntoni system. The excuses will always be there to delegitimize Lin, heck, we get that in GARM here too.
Nobody has talked about race until you. It's freaking morons like you who try to make every thread D&D material by stirring up the race issue. Your purpose being here is just to stir up the pot. GTFO.
I live in NYC and listen to him on occasion: he is a racist, and hates on Asians --and occasionally White athletes every day. Why is it hard for you to believe that Blacks aren't racist?
You mean Stephen A Smith I don't listen to him any more he is always bias and pro-Heat. I only watch when Stephen and Skipp fighting at each other.
Although he does make some stupid and radical comments at times, I actually do like SAS and from an overall standpoint, I have to admit he is pretty knowledgeable and the way he communicates his points are very effective. Besides, he is just flat out hilarious when he's on his rants especially about how bad the Knicks are doing. (See the beginning of this one or the 2/21 podcast after they got destroyed by the Pacers). I just think he was so annoyed last year with the whole Linsanity craze that he's always been kind of a hater and doubter. Although he admits Jeremy will be very good in a couple years, he never actually gives any individual credit to Lin and makes excuses as to why Lin is doing well. And now that the Knicks are declining and ppl are bringing up Lin, he gets annoyed and has another rant about Lin. Even though it is clear Knicks desperately need some youth and playmaking, both of which Lin has. Rockets will finish off with more playoff wins than New York. You can count on that
I don't give a flying ass whether SAS is racist or not. The one who cares what SAS says are idiots. But I have problem with the fools who try to turn every single thread to a debate about racism. And I have a even bigger problem with the freaking morons like LCAhmed who try to stir up the pot by provoking the other posters for a racism debate.
Yeah, SAS is more logical than Bayless. He makes many valid points. He recognized Jlin had some skills unlike Tebow who he called a fraud. But he overdoes it some time like the "exposed" thing when Lin played badly at Miami.
Oh by the way, you are seriously mistaken if you believe LCAhmed really thinks SAS is a racist. LCAhmed is a certified tool whose day job is to hide at the corner on this board in order to wait for the chance to provoke the Asian members. He was implying Asian members would think SAS is a racist in his r****ded post. Of course he is too much a coward to say it out directly.
I have been critical of jlin's play in the past and I still think has a ways to but I think he is beginning to show some signs of growth as a player and pg. Not playing in crunch time will make you mentally strong. I do think SAS is right about the him being lucky about to get his deal and to be playing with big game James but if James was not here jlin would get more chances to freelance and do his thing. The man is not a scrub but he is not star either. Like I have always said he needs someone behind him in the rotation to push him. I think the Rockets are providing the push indirectly this season(patbev plays better d, thus his crunch time play and with harden in the game you better take advantage of your shot opportunities) to see how he responds. In my opinion he is moving in the plus direction but it's all about doing it consistently for him. That's my take.
that's why some guys in the league dont give a sh.. about SAS and never talks to him. he kisses up to the superstars and will never call out them out. i remember he use to go at paul pierce a lot and i think he tried to play it off awhile back. i know paul pierce and kg dont even acknowledge that guy.
I'm not a fan of SAS but he defends his teams to the end, even when they play like garbage. That being said, I do not see the Knicks winning a title with Melo as a centerpiece.
