http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=9057094 Starts at the 43 minute mark. For those who are too lazy to listen to it: - A Knick fan calls in and tells SAS that he should apologize to Knick fans for saying they'd be better off letting go of Lin for Felton in the offseason. - SAS says he still stands by what he said and thinks for right now Knicks are better with Felton than Lin since Felton is more of a pure PG. - Ryan Rucco (who's a big Lin fan) agrees with the caller and SAS responds by saying Lin is the luckiest guy in the NBA because of 1. The contract he got and 2. Getting to play with James Harden. Also says if Lin was the man in Houston, he would have gotten annihilated, especially by the likes of Tony Parker and Russell Westbrook. - Rucco talks about how bad Felton's defense is and SAS says Lin is a bad defender as well. Rucco defends Lin and says his defense has improved this year and SAS' retort is that Houston's style of offense is able to hide Lin's defensive weaknesses. Rucco tells him that made no sense since Mike D'Antoni's team have always had terrible defenses that you could spot. Although I disagree that Lin would have been annihilated as the man in Houston (he probably would be putting up 18 points a game), obviously we wouldn't be a playoff team without Harden.
Who cares, we'll all laugh when the Knicks finish at the 8th seed or something and gets bounced in 4 games by the Heat, and Melo smack Felton's face into something hard on the court.
Stephen A is the biggest supporter for Melo go to NYC. But, Knicks fans shouldn't blame SAS, it's his job to kiss the star's ass and create controversy.
He started softening up on Lin when the Knicks were doing well. Now they're stinking up the joint and Felton in particular looks terrible, so he's back on his Lin-hate train. Big surprise.
he gets paid to say inflammatory things to sensitive people. He is what you guys would call a "LOH". Don't bait him.
Only Knicks fans still think Stephen A's comments is decent. It's funny to watch they complained Lin is a turnover machine and D'Antoni's defense. D'Antoni defense is not that worse. He just doesn't have good defensive player. Last season, the Knicks played the best defense when Melo and Amare were out.
Thats not really hate to be honest. all those points are arguable. It's arguable that if we didn't have harden that lin would have it handed to him. westbrook and parker are on different levels so its kinda stupid to compare them. nobody is saying Lin is as good as them. I dont agree really with saying lin is a bad defender, he has some good nights, but at worst he's average i'll give him that. he has improved. but like i said, you can argue that he's not a good defender from others point of views. And new york arguably is better off without him. After the linsanity thing wore off lins games performances were less than stellar, he probably wouldn't have fit in well with NY along side melo smith and stod all healthy. The word is criticism, if that. not hate.
Lin's an easy target for him because of his (Lin) fan base. SAS knows that his comments are going to bring a reaction and a trillion views. I would just ignore him.
Man if I were the guy sitting opposite of FAS, I'll just repeat opposite to whatever he says in an elementary kind of annoying tone. It seems like FAS is the type that explodes easily, so people should just laugh at whatever he says and say the complete opposite.
The only people who care what Stephen A Smith says are washed up scorers in China and Knicks fans. no Rockets fans ever cared about him.
Warriors fans don't miss Lin b/c they have Curry. They should be after losing 4 times in a row to HOU.
Thought the thread was going to be about Spurs fans hating on Lin when I saw the title lol. And who gives a crap what Steven A. thinks? He's known to have a hard on for players like Melo and AI who ballhog, score a lot of points, but never make their team better and never win ****.
