looking at his highlights tonight and noticed that he is running a little gingerly . it just seems like he is not moving at the speed he used to be before the injuries. anyone else notice?
have you been paying attention to anything rockets related lately? he didnt practice yesterday and wasnt suppose to play a lot tonight. of course hes still injured. he just played well despite it
We really need someone to give him a breather, like a decent sg who would average 10ppg at 15 to 20 mins a game. Watching him play at this level is a luxury for us and it scares me at times that were are just 1 mistake away from an ACL tear. I don't want him to go down the way Tmac or D Rose with their knees.
Yea he was laboring a lot while scoring that 2nd half. You could tell he was really hurt that first half due to his play but man he came out with that look in his eyes where he wouldn't let us lose tonight. Don't remember seeing that in a while...not even from t-mac.
Sometimes i wonder if we could let Lin play the 2 then let Beverly run the point. I guess Brooks getting more minutes should be finally explored as an option too. Anything just to lessen Harden's heavy load.
10ppg at 15-20 min a game is really good. That's about what harden would score in that amount of time (if you reduce his current time and keep the same rate). Someone like delfino is more realistic, 11 ppg at 25 min
He is determined to show the Thunder that he can carry a team to the playoff and make the Thunder sorry for trading him.
He has a bad foot plus I think it was against Dallas that he hurt his knee or thigh getting ran into by Shawn Marion's knee. Harden is pretty well banged up and probably will not be healthy until after the season.
I am of the same belief, I guess that is why we are seeing McHale try out the 5 bench players so much including playing Garcia much more then his talent seems to warrant. Personally, I'd prefer to see Anderson or Brooks used to spell Harden but time will tell how McHale's decisions benefit or hurt the team in the long run. Hoping the former, even though I don't agree with half of them.
He will likely have off season surgery to remove bone spurs in his foot. He will most likely take a game or two off in the future if we have any sense of security (which THAT is unlikely).
I hope he can make the playoffs healthy and explosive. I too would be interested in a bev/lin/AB 1-2 rotation...to give our star harden a break. I think Lin while his strength lies with ball distribution and game control, if he sticks to spot up 3 point shots (in his favourite/classic 3 point from the top right hand side...seems to be his best 3pt shot position) and the penetrations he seems to beat just about any point guard on... with AB, maybe beverly running point, hopefully we can rest harden more. either that, or just let lin run more minutes.. we need harden/lin for those 4th quarter minutes / 60 point backcourt productions.
He's definitely laboring a sore foot but I think some late season fatigue has something to do with it as well. James will be more prepared next year. He came in this season thinking he was going to be a 6th man again. Conditioning and maybe slimming down a tad will help him close games better.
Need AB to get some PT at 2 guard. He can give at least 10 minutes rest that Harden needs to finish up this home stand.
The way he landed on Lees foot a few games ago makes me believe from experience that its more tendon/muscle related than bone. Not too worried about him getting run ragged like D Rose. He absorbs contact very well and rarely is out of control going towards the basket. I worry a bit more about Lin than Harden. Guy should go train with someone like a Tony Hawk or a Shaun White this summer to learn how to control you body better in a fall. Hes really doing a number on his body when he takes a pounding in the paint. You think I'm joking but those athletes master the art form to perfection.
I'd rather rest Harden to be safe. I'm more interested future championship than merely making the playoff this year. If his injury got worse, we are screwed for the next decade. I mean just turn off our TV, and turn it back on after a decade if Harden went down bad. To this day I still remember Yao limping badly for a few minutes in the playoff with Lakers. Had we pull him off the first minute he's limping, he'll probably avoid that bone facture.
I don't think the above mention about Yao is true. He wasn't going to last no matter what. The years of beating that he took caught up to him. I would like us to try to get Harden a game or two off. Problem is that we play up or down to every opponent we have. I don't want to jinx us, but I don't see us missing the playoffs @ this point.
