never understood how the results of an internet poll could be taken so personally by some people... if the opinions of a group of anonymous internet users bother you this much. smh...

It's tricky though, when the person who leads the team isn't the highest scorer. And perhaps when that person isn't the best scorer.

A positive example would be Tyson Chandler for the Knicks. A negative would be Dwight in Orlando, or perhaps Cousins in Sac.

While I do think that players look up to Harden as a leader, by all accounts he doesn't seem to be a *vocal* leader. He's the scoring leader, and leader by example, and the face/beard of the franchise, but I'm not sure that he really *coaches* the players and talks to them as much on the bench and in timeouts and so forth.

I actually voted Parsons because of that, though given the recent interviews and the way that Lin talks during timeouts, I'm coming around to Lin being a leader too.

Thankfully this is just a fan forum. Any real NBA poll would be 90% harden.

i did chuckle when i saw the results though. but like others have said dont take it so seriously. it just shows how this site is over populated by lin fans.

Or, maybe just a small handful who have figured out how to vote early and often... I can't believe 2,500 individuals voted Lin as the leader of this team, when he himself has said that Harden "is our leader".

You're just assuming they're Lin fans. They may not be.

Lots of people out there genuinely believe Jeremy is the team's leader, and they wouldn't necessarily be wrong.

Dude you need to calm down, it's just an internet poll on a fansite.

Lin has always been a leader on his teams dating back to high school and even with the Knicks with Amare and Melo. In fact there were rumblings that some players were upset because some kid who was in the D-league a few weeks ago was telling them what to do.

I didn't vote but I don't think it's too far-fetched to think that in some instances he does lead. I also think Harden leads in other instances. There can be multiple leaders on a team.

I doubt there's that many LOFs. Most of it is probably just from a few guys. All you have to do to vote again on Firefox is click tools-clear history. Pretty easy to troll poll results. Saw some weird jumping in the poll results of the Kevin Love "career loser" thread that made me think a lot of it was just one guy with too much time on his hands.

You don't need to be a fan of someone to think they're the leader (e.g., I'm not a fan of Carmelo Anthony, but I still think he's the leader of the Knicks).

During Linsanity Lin si super vocal and he was really into it, during the time he is on the rockets, he still talks to his players quite a bit and I see it. I don't see Harden do so as much on teh court, but I'm willing to bet he deos more int he locker room or practice possibly.

How can anyone say its anyone besides Harden? What a ****ing sham. Harden is by far the most vocal on the court. He has called out Lin multiple times for missed plays.

It was during trying to break the 3pt record and Bev got clotheslined by the GSW and the game got chippy. Lin was talking to him after the incident and after the game and then talked to GSW with Beverley after the game ended.

Lin is one of the leaders on the team. He isn't the only one.

That statement of Harden's has moved him up towards being a leader of the team also.

One attribute of a true leader is giving credit where it's due. I am glad Harden demonstrated that.

Ask Lin about Harden's play and he'll probably say the same thing. The Rockets have two great guys as leaders and the team seems to respond well to them.
