What do you guys think? There are limited information on XBOX so im leaning towards PS4...but I heard its not backwards compatible right?
Not knowing much about 1 isn't a good reason to just go with the other one. I'd try and wait for more info I think.. but if you force a decision with less info, I'd pick Xbox based on the last battle. I think they're gonna kill it in the "everything else" area (i.e. the "beyond the games" stuff). To me the games/graphics are a wash unless you have a platform-specific game like MLB The Show or Halo..
Hmm good point. Ive seen some game footage on PS4, impressive. But it's probably reasonable to assume there wouldnt be much of a difference in terms of graphics performance on both platforms...It's more about exclusive titles and playability. Thanks anyway
I think a majority of Xbox 360 owners will go with the Xbox 720, and a majority of PS3 owners will go with the PS4. I'm a 360 owner, and while I don't enjoy paying for Xbox Live, the actual service of Xbox Live trumps the online version of the Playstation, and just about all of my friends are Xbox owners themselves, so I'll be going with the 720 most likely. I was really impressed with the PS4 though. Still need to wait on the announcement of 720.
Yes, for solo gameplay, of course, but xboxLIVE is how my group of friends keep in touch. Most of them don't own a computer capable of running current games, which I think is true for most circles. So, until that changes PC will lack the social aspect that will keep consoles alive an well.
Even though saying XBOX 720 makes me sounds like a 10 year old kid back in 2008 claiming his dad "works" for Microsoft and "knows" what the next system is going to be, I gotta go with XBOX. I've had my 360 for years, and it's been great for the most part. Going with a new system's controls could be confusing.
Seems silly to try to debate the merits of each when there is so little solid info on the next XBOX. All I can say in general is that at this moment, I really just don't care that much about either one. The lack of backwards compatibility for the PS4 really annoys me. If it had BC with PS1 & PS2 games at least, I'd buy one at launch. Since it doesn't, I won't be buying one until there are multiple games I *must* play on it, or when I can no longer get a current version of FIFA on the PS3. Whichever comes first. Same thing with the Wii U. It has to have a critical mass of games I really want before I'll consider picking it up. I assume I'll have all 3 systems one day, but when that is all depends on the games. Much the same effect with the Vita for me. Oh, no UMD Passport program in the US, you say? Guess I won't be buying one. Too bad, Sony. I coulda been a big customer if you weren't such enormous jerks to the North American portable market.
With ps4 adding mics out the box, the online experience should be a lot better than that of the ps3. Couple that with not having to pay xbox live, the odds are in ps4's favor.
I was under the impression they hadn't confirmed that you could play online without some kind of paid subscription. But then, it's entirely possible they did and I missed it, since I haven't been following closely at all.
I don't know, but since I've had two 360s and zero PS3s, smart money says I'll end up with the 720. I'll wait a year or two before I get my next system. The 360 is doing just fine for now.
Meaning you missed Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles? You make me sad. Seriously, in a year or two when the price inevitably drops on the PS3 yet again, pick one up and check out the greats you missed.
Xbox 360 had much better games than PS3. I'm still enjoying the 360 so I'll wait until next year to get it.
