Its hard to enjoy anything anymore with health freaks running around telling people that they are going to die. You don't need all these studies to tell you to enjoy things in moderation. Time and time again, people listen to health freaks, panic and try to cut out their favorite foods cold turkey. Days, weeks, months later they slip and start binge eating. This is how eating disorders start people.
You need electrolytes to replace the ones lost when you take part in extenuous cardio activity. V-Fusion, in moderation is a good remedy imo.
eh come on man... marketing machine. yes your body needs electrolytes but the amount of sugar and salt in gatorade is way more than you lose working out. unless you are taxing your body to extreme limits on a constant basis. running on a treadmill at 70% then downing a 32oz gatorade for 'electrolytes' is pure bull****.
I actually agree with the first two posts in that people shouldn't overreact to every study that comes out, especially on ones done on animals as their biological reactions can be different than ours. With that said, people should do their share of research if they can and weigh the truth versus the half truths and so forth until they are able to figure out what makes the most sense. And remember that just because you wake up every day feeling fine doesn't mean you're healthy, as it may be an illusion. Remember, it's called disease for a reason and that we should figure out how to get into optimal health, something a pill usually can only supress or cover up not cure.
Wrong, look it up. My answer had nothing to do with their constant preaching on "eletrolytes" in their commercials and I feel the best source of them is fruit and fruit juice (not concentrated juice however).
just saw my neighbor's kid drinking a 32 ouncer of Gatorade. i am guessing he is losing all his electrolytes from the touch football they are playing in the streets.
too many people are concerned about what research says about every damn thing. people lived without a lot of the issues our generation is having without all this freaking research. i don't need research to tell me that drinking sugar water after walking 2 miles is not necessary. i also think it's common sense that if something is too good to be true..it's probably not good for u. a safer alternative to sugar that has NO calories but 400x sweeter? what can possibly go wrong? some of us are eating calories like there's a fking famine coming yet we move our fat asses as little as possible.
A enjoy a Gatorade a few days a week personally but I am a ski instructor so I am basically working out all day every day. Sometimes I just need something sweet to re energize me, water just doesn't always do it for me
You realize aspertame, splenda and similar chemicals are almost literally poison, right? IIRC, aspertame is made of bacteria waste.
Water Vegetables Nuts Fruit Occasional meat and milk ...that's all you need Sugar is worse than fat is worse than salt
Oh I know. I was actually agreeing with everyone about those things being Na for you. I drink water and a glass of coconut milk for my shakes. No coke, no juice My sources of artificial sugar comes from these stupid protein shakes (2 scoops/whey).
