Kind of makes sense though the Patterson one is surprising, but confirms my opinion that Leslie is kind of cheap..

    1. They can't waive him and redo-- if they waive him another team will pick him off waivers and HOU loses him.

    2. Here's the rule on renegotiations: http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q59

His deal can only be renegotiated after 3 years under contract-- I.e. in the 2014-15 season, and only if HOU has enough cap room to pay for the increase.

Who knows whether HOU will have cap room at that time? Also, who knows what Parsons' performance level will be at that time?

Parsons should never complain or even bring up the fact he's the most underpaid starter. He's on a favorable rookie scale contract, drafted in the 2nd round. There's a lot of players making the same money or less that would love to be in his shoes.

So is this in lieu of going after Howard, or are they going after Dwight Howard AND Smith/Millsap? Any insight as to what they feel about Asik moving forward??

You mentioned you were looking over the numbers. What kind of ballpark figure are they making off sponsorships due to Lin?

Fair enough....how much are the Rockets sponsorship deals being hurt by the Comcast debacle in Houston? I would imagine that has to be a sore spot.

Good thing I am in Austin and I can actually watch the games.

lets just say he is saying the truth....

Rockets could get Smith and then get hardens back up in Reddick this offseason.

That would be a pretty good haul...does that make a contenders?

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Smith
    Asik

    6th man
    Reddick

    ?

Whole other conversation... Let's just say the Rockets LOVE revenue sharing and that the Astros are having way more trouble with the deal.

Rockets are going to push hard this offseason to fix this Comcast crap.

In Asia, they broadcast almost half of Rockets games live. Its a lot more compared to Lakers and OKC games combined. Its even more than when Yao was still around. That's serious income for Rockets and the league. Like it or not, Lin is so popular in Asia regardless of his stats or performance. Tickets and gears sales are small income compared to TV rights. If you add up Lin's fans in asia, its more than the whole population of USA. Its how big it is...its really WOW...

I don't believe the losing Patterson for nothing. Teams with cash are keeping their cash ready for "THE Summer of 2014". Teams without cash are trying to get cash for "THE Summer of 2014". Nobody is going to blow cash now on Patterson. I think you will have some teams that will give him MLE but that's max. Now if you don't want to spend an extra couple of mill for having Patterson over TRob then that's just foolish IMO.

What kind of shocking news do you think a Rockets exec would reveal to somebody outside of the organization?

Once, during the early Yao years, I met Colin Pine. I talked to him about the Rockets and reported what I learned here. All that came away from that conversation was some confirmation that some of the same rumors and speculation that were floating around on this board were floating around the Rockets locker room too.

Obviously, depending on the source, they may have more info than a guy like Yao's translator, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're just throwing it around for anybody to hear.

What blew my mind about sharing my discussion with Colin Pine was how many people tried to rip me apart and claim I was lying. It was Colin Pine - not Carroll Dawson. But apparently a great many people just really hate the idea of somebody having ANY sort of source when they have none.

Hope you're not one of those people.

Why not push hard to fix it now? Why not push hard to fix it at the beginning of the season?

Gotcha. I guess I believe him. I wouldn't mind Smoove to a certain extent. I feel like more pieces would have to be added though to make us contenders. Reddick anyone???

    I don't think J.SMITH/Millsap is a Max. contract player.
