I like this...and we shouldn't sign pekovic to max so we will still have money for a SF

None of the guys OP mentioned seem very appealing to me. Wouldn't make the team all that much better IMO, and to give somebody a huge contract it would need to be better than that.

However, I am a huge JJ Redick fan and think he would be a great player off the bench behind Harden.

If we somehow nab howard, I'm hoping morey somehow manages to get Reddick. That dude is an absolute stud.

You know what if we dont get Dwight I'm hoping morey throws a one year 10 Mil deal to milsap, and a one year 8 Mil deal to Reddick. That should get us to the 3th seed in the west until free agency in 2014.

    Lin/Beverly
    Harden/Reddick
    Parsons/Delfino?
    Milsap/Dmo
    Asik/T-Rob

    Quite a formidable team.

Iguodala! Not only is he a nice offensive threat, he's also a very good defender. I got nothing but good things to say about this guy.

As far as non-stars go, I'd like Mozgov and that's it.

We would be a lot better TEAM with him. IMO, he would be +3/5 WINS for us next year. Plus Harden/Parsons can not log the time like they have this year. Would like to see Parsons' role be a d-stopper like he was at times last year and just hit open threes. Dunleavy is a "glue guy" that can score that just makes EVERYONE better when he is on the court. McHale would love playing him (even more than Delfino). Thats is a good thing. He is at $3,750,000 now. --> 15M / 3yrs team option on the 3rd year.

"Under the radar, low risk move"-gah --> so true one of the better moves we could make, IMO.

He may not be the answer to the 4 --> Keep the youngsters a season or two - T. Jones is the best of all of them (summer league) and we have not seen much him, yet (IR) - so it just going to get better.

It's likely we won't pick up mid-priced players (like Reddick) and over $10M players but not real stars unless he's a PF that Morey likes, and it won't be done until we've given Paul and Howard both a shot.

My guess is the hot names will be gone by the time we have got the players we want (plan A to plan D), and we'll fill out roster with overlooked guys like Delfino

    IF we can't sign DH

Should we consider trading Lin, asik, + fillers for Bledsoe and deandre, then use the remaining cap on a big name PF

Darko Milicic as the back up center to play next to T. Robinson. Nice fit - spacing/rebounding. He got paid $1,223,166 this year --> 4.5M-6M / 3 years team option 2nd and 3 year.

Randy Foye 3rd string point / shooting gaurd. (let Brooks walk / over paid - same 3 point shot, better definder, larger size, plays 2 spots for less money.) He made $2,500,this season --> 4.5M-5M / 3 years team option 2nd and 3 year.

No to Darko, we have Greg Smith and Tim Olbrecht with much better upside at a lower cost. Maybe even Hassan Whiteside pans out?

Randy Foye makes sense if we get him for cheaper than Brooks. Foye has a really nice game actually, we might have the best third string point guard in the league if that happens. It would be sad to watch Brooks leave again though.

Royal Ivey also makes sense. Hes a tweener Pg/Sg from the sixers who is a free agent. His offence is fairly limited, but he can shoot deadeye from the three, and plays lockdown defence. I'm pretty sure we could get him for cheap if needed.

My goodness, Bledsoe is going to ask for a bigger contract than Lin, and deandre has a bigger contract than Asik and doesn't even play 32 minutes a game (24min this year) because he shoots FTs at 41%.

If we get both, then we're out of the running for a super max contract, and perhaps also a 1st max contract like Harden's (depending on other more minor roster moves).

And I don't think Bledsoe and deandre is an upgrade or a significant enough upgrade over Lin & Asik that warrants the Rockets' hit on salary cap.

CP3, Iggy, Smith and Howard. Any chance of pulling it off?

    That's ~$60M/season there.

And it's not a good mix. Defensively great, but Iggy is a bad 3pt shooter/shooter, Smith is avg at 3 and really bad on long 2s, and Howard is bad outside the 5ft. FTs will also be bad.

Spread the floor with a backup SG/SF ... Chase Budinger is a free agent. Trouble is, we could never pry him away from Adelman and the Wolves.:)

1st, Darko's done. He's done with basketball, has gone back to Europe and isn't playing there.
2nd, Did you say...watch him at all? In Minnesota? The Wolves gave him 4.5-6 millions for 3 years. The result was that Adelman openly stated in the 2012 offseason that his top priority was to get Darko off the team, the Wolves amnestied him for that much, and no one picked him up. Darko's a decent rebounder/defender, but he provides absolutely nothing else, demands touches that he doesn't deserve and pouts when he doesn't, and makes Royce White look emotionally mature. I cannot think of a stupider idea.

Except maybe for Randy Foye and Mike Dunleavy.

Brewer would be a good wing defender, playing backup to harden and can switch to the 3 while delfino can play a stretch 4
