No...Rice Hotel is an historic landmark. It's not coming down.... this is coming catty-cornered to it. In fact, you can still see the Rice in the rendering in the OP
I didn't know a McDonald's used to be there but yes, across from Cafe Express. The block right next to the Flying Saucer.
Yay, even more construction and more traffic! I go downtown, construction/traffic. My area going to I-10, construction EVERYWHERE, go to the Galleria area, construction everywhere. I cannot wait until they finish all of this up and start on the east side since I never venture over there.
I work out here on the East side, for now. It's dirty, dusty, it smells and there is nothing but fast food and lowered trucks everywhere. Not my style.
maybe if Houston had some sort of public transportation system, possibly a rail line that could help alleviate traffic where adding more lanes to roads/parking is just not feasible. I'm sure Texx would support that.
