Trade Asik, Parsons + for Love
    Sign Pekovic
Find SF somewhere. Delfino could start in meantime

    Lin
    Harden
    Delfino
    Love
    Pekovic

    That could be very dangerous

i think it would be good to add a veteran big man to this young team.

looking at the list of free agents, ronny turiaf seems to be a good option. he would probably come cheap, hustles, has experience, good locker room guy. i think he would be a realistic, solid option

Our guys are so young, and have played so little, but have flashed so much promise, I'd counsel patience. For example, this Anderson kid has gotten so few minutes, but looks like a potential beast. DMo and TRob both were solid last night-- and we haven't even given TJ or Ohlbrecht a (real) chance to show what they can do. I hope the only wrangling DM does is to get into position to select Oladipo. That way we can afford to pay Parsons in a couple years, and keep growing our youngsters.

Under the radar, low risk move: signing Mike Dunleavy Jr. if we end up having to let Delfino go. Seems better suited for the sf/strech 4 off the bench role.

seriously. what's that guy thinking!
why would we want a top 3 (top 1?) PF who'se young, would never be on a super-max contract, and can both spread the floor and play inside!!
Horrible. I hope the Rockets front office doesn't fall for that one...

Al Jefferson! I honestly think he's exactly what this team needs. We need someone who can give Asik rest. He's a very capable center who can also play PF if we ever want to go big. He doesn't appear to be a diva if we decide to sit him if we want to play fast and he apparently was a great mentor the past few years to Favors, so he can do the same for D-Mo and TRob. Have a four man rotation of Asik/Dmo/Al/TRob for our bigs, then try to grab a bench scorer similar to a Jamal Crawford type (don't know who yet)

I don't remember if Avery Bradley is a RFA after this year, or next year, but I would love to go after him. I think with Bradley in the lineup, our team could take a few steps forward quickly. I have never seen a player as committed to defense as Bradley

Defense is half the game - we aren't stopping anyone with that lineup

The reason we are in great position is because we can add a star without having to trade and have a player at every position except PF. There is no reason to trade Lin asik or parsons unless you're upgrading that position (example: package Lin for Paul; just an example) Otherwise I don't see why we should explore trading any of our top 4

I don't think we should think about trading Lin or Asik.

The only way I think we should consider dealing Asik is if we somehow sign Howard. Same goes for Lin.

Our priority now is definitely getting Howard. Failing that, seeing as the Lakers are pushing to the playoffs, I think Josh Smith should be our next target. Bynum is FAR too risky and I think he's too prideful to take a 1 year deal + team options. Smith can either be the secondary star we need or become the main piece of a trade package down the road for Love. I'm personally hoping Smith comes to Houston and trains with Hakeem.

I think Paul Millsap is a good 3rd option also if our attempts at Howard and Smith fail. He can stretch the floor, right?

As far as filling out the bench: JJ Redick or Randy Foye would make excellent back-ups to Harden; absolute snipers. If we want some more defense, Brewer is also available. I think Mozgov is available too if we want a big 7'0 to give Asik some rest.

My guess is we push for Howard. If/when we don't get him, we'll simply sign a cheap mentor (a la delfino) and roll our cap space over for next year.

    Hmn....

I'd love Iggy if he were a get at 4 years $50-$52, but that's a tough one, and if we got him, it'd just make Parsons ask for that much more.

The idea is probably see how much Dmo and TRob develop and see if Minnesota will bite on taking them (and the extra 6 million or more in cap room) for Love, who'll leave anyway (albeit being on the books for two more years). Hey, I know I'm dreaming. The two players would really have to develop; and if they did, maybe we'd be better keeping them.

Of course the Rockets'll let Howard use them in free agency ("it was a great meeting with Daryl Morey, great city, but I have to go where my wallet, er, heart tells me...") to get what he wants from the Lakers, but let's not hold our breath on him signing here.

Dunleavy at the 4 isn't a good idea. His worst season came at PF under Nellie, while his best season was at SG, but is better suited to SF.

Dorell Wright has my interest if Delfino doesn't stay, and he'll probably come cheap. Corey Brewer and Gerald Henderson are also interesting options, but Henderson will probably have most offers matched by the Bobcats and Brewer may want full MLE money.

Also, what are the chances we get Dalembert back, lol.

Glen Rice Jr. may get signed since you're bringing up those names to replace Delfino.

Go for AI. Move parsons to 4 and D-Mo to 5. Trade away lin and asik for rondo and pick. Draft Alex Poythress.
