Barwin isn't coming back. He's looking at 6-8 mil a season.

What dumb team will give him that? Is that the going rate for an average OLB?

Someone in the other thread posted that he saw Connor at fitzgeralds (I think) and said that he just needs to pass a physical of some sort...take it as you will but I hope that he stays

That's the going rate for a pass rusher, and I'm guessing he'll be a DE, not an OLB.

Reading up more on him, yeah that seems like it. Pretty thin on premier pass rushers this free agency, Barwin may luck into a nice contract to reward his crappy season.

The only way we should resign Barwin is if it's on the cheap. Mercilus might already be better than Barwin.

Do you like winning? If you like winning Super Bowls, you like Ed Reed. Period. The Texans can't let him leave today without striking a deal.

Right about now, they are hashing out the contractual details. Just a matter of time.

That they are flying him in means they want to sign him and think they can. If he leaves without a deal that means he isn't signing here. Free agent visits rarely end without a contract for a player that ultimately signs there.

I'm drooling about the leadership and the mentoring role he will bring to the defense.

They MUST sign him at this point. After making no attempt to retain Quin, they have no other option

The good thing if we get Reed is that it doesn't rule out drafting a safety this year either. Wouldn't be bad to get a guy with good potential to learn from Ed Reed for 2-3 years.
