Mike Woodson was blaming injuries and practice time for his team's poor performance lately - and that was before the game. Sounds like he's just afraid to step up to the plate and be the best coach ever and take all the blame for all his team's problems.
Thanks. I thought Morey signed Harden for the Amish community. They have a pretty siginificant present in the Houston area, I believe.
Harden's skillset is truly limited(no post-game , so-so mid-range game) but whatever skills he does have, he has at an elite level. My point is that those skills will not be fully utilized as long as he plays with Lin.
I agree. Mcfail have him running around 35+ mins per game. y not give him some more rest and have anderson run for a while for this season till we sign someone better at SG in FA.
Whenever everyone hustles, rebounds and plays defense you have to give McHale some credit. A few things stuck out to me: 1. When McHale subbed 5 players at once in the second quarter. At that point we weren't hustling on defense and the Suns were shooting like 60%. Immediately the team showed a different level of intensity and soon after that is when they started dominating. 2. Right before halftime McHale called a timeout and drew up a great play that got Parsons an open look at the rim. (Parsons should have used a floater instead of a layup to get it off in time.) 3. Out of a timeout McHale drew up another nice play for Parsons to get an alley oop.
Hilarious reading GSW forums. One thread is saying how they are trying to incorporate Houston's offensive principles in to their gameplan. One person said they believed that if McHale had that team with his offensive scheme, the team would be putting up over 110 a game. A few people are really down on Marc Jackson - citing his SUBSTITUTION PATTERNS as proof. Another thread on a different forum blames Jackson for the DEFENSIVE PROBLEMS his team is having lately. Deja vu anyone: http://www.goldenstwarriors.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10256 Every team has fans that b**** about their coach and substitution patterns. Every team has weird line-ups out there - look at how the Suns played Goran in that first game. ****, I was watching the crazy line-up that Ty Corbin had out there for the Jazz the other night. We don't see what goes in to making these decisions. Have you seen some of the line-ups that Pop goes to in San Antonio? Every fan of every team could sit and cry about substitutions, but what does it matter when you win? I don't hear people crying about it during our 30 point routs, and then they cry about us doing the exact same stuff during a 4 point loss. It's the scapegoat for the fan who knows nothing about basketball. If you feel someone isn't playing well and you don't like that player, you'll scream for them to get pulled. If you feel someone isn't play well but you like that player, you'll scream for them to stay on the court and say McHale should "develop some trust" in his guys. The key words here are you and feel. It's up to the individual, and mostly it comes down to who you like and don't like regarding who you think should be playing.
I told my wife about how it was mcfail and then now its McSuccess now. She doesnt understand and was like wtf? I didn't do a very good job of explaining. McSuccess is playing above season expectations guys. We could lose and fall off to 14th pick again so let's not get too excited yet, but the reality is that it is McSuccess.
Yup. Even Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich had their "Fire Coach!!!" knee-jerk reactions. The majority of these posters are impatient, bandwagon fans/trolls. It's appalling to go into Rockets' sites to have people saying crap like "Mchale you not wanted in Taiwan." These and other Mcfail posts usually derail any worthwhile critical dialogue about Coach's performance. Sure it's human nature want to vent when things don't go our way. But a lot of the posters' level of nastiness and short-sightedness reflect poorly on our respective fanbases (Rockets fans, Lin only fans, etc). /falls off the soapbox
At best, the verdict is still out on McHale as a coach. I mean, this is a very young team. He's never really had a vet team to coach except maybe last year. And he did as good of a job with that crew as Rick the Ruler did. And Rick ain't doing much better with Minnie. I mean, there's only so much a coach can do with what he has to work with. And when you are as young and inexperienced as this team is, getting them to play defense and to protect the ball is going to be tough.
Coaching is about a lot more than the 48 minutes of the game. Sometimes McHale uses lineups that are weird to me, but I'm sure he knows more than I do--I don't see the practices either and I've never been in the locker room. McHale's strength is in motivating the players, I think. He's flabbergasted that they're all not as good as Larry Byrd or at least McHale himself. He'll push the players forever. X's and O's . . . I'm sure others are better. But McHale has his own strong points.
He's not Coach of the Year Hope he's just Coach of the Season..Rockets deserve a better Head Coach next season! He can stay in another capacity though
