he turned his head the other way and was getting is balance after he jumped. I'm not sure why you're so bent on that being true. One of my friends used to kick out and get mad at me when he pulled the same crap. The defender has to get his balance to, if his momentum is towards the side he is coming down on how do you expect him to turn around just like that?
I don't care about the Lakers but I think the league and officials need to start taking actions towards those types of play. I don't care for Kobe and the Lakers but if there is no consequences to that, dirty defensive players will start under cutting shooters and hoping the shooter will land on their foot. Its a dirty play period. When a player doesn't really contest the shot but instead, sliding underneath the shooter like that is a dirty play. I think the league should issue some type of punishment like fines or officials should be able to hand out techs or flagrants whenever a defender purposely slide under the shooter without even contesting the shot. Maybe that is too harsh but something needs to be done. If defenders keep getting away with that, they will continue to do it against star players. At least that should be an automatic foul.
yeah, kobe looked as if he extended his right leg more than he needed to on that one (to draw the foul). extending his right leg put all of his weight on his left leg which all came down on his ankle. should've just shot that shot straight up IMO.
So after seeing the last gif, Kobe twisted his own ankle on the floor. He also kicked out, but that's what he normally does, still a foul. However I also think there could be a case for a foul on Dahntay's part, but it's a waist-up foul. The injury was self inflicted.

Thank you. I know people hate Kobe but some of the posts in this thread are surreal, at least for people who play and know basketball. You just don't keep walking under a shooter after the shot.
