I care about that streak and I don't want the heat to break it suck it I don't care. I want the rockets to have every record in the league and win more championships. And I also think Hakeem is a top 5 player all time. I could go on and on.
OH SHOOT. A team of three superstars who conspired to play together are going to out-streak a team with injured Yao, injured McGrady, Rafer Alston and Steve Novak on it!
Question is: will Spoelstra win COY if this streak continues or will he get shafted like Adelman in 2008?
If the Heat (or any team) moves past the Rockets' streak that does not diminish what the Rockets did nor should it lessen your pride in your teams' achievement.
Yeah now that they are winning it's like they were supposed to win, but when they first joined everyone said Bosh was weak and that LeBron and Wade couldn't play together and some people said Cleveland would win a championship before Miami would. Haters gon hate?
Our streak is way more impressive. They need 3 "superstars" to reach our status hahahahahahaha. Underdogs for life!
Why do you need your fanhood to be validated? Living by your metric (# of championships), you're always going to come up short to other franchises. Guess we should just stop rooting for the Rockets? "My team once won back-to-back championships in 94-95!" "...but my team has won 17 championships" Yeah, it's not a good comparison. Pretending like a championship is the only worthwhile achievement in sports is ignorant and a great way to guarantee an inferiority complex. I have a pretty easy time explaining how much of an achievement 22-wins in a row by a depleted Rockets team was, given that the only other team to match that had Kareem and Wilt on it. Good luck explaining how great back-to-back championships was to a Lakers/Celtics fan. Pro tip: root for a team because you enjoy it, not because you're seeking validation.
Why is it embarrassing? We achieve that square and fair. It's not like we cheated or something. Are you saying that unless you are the best team, you should feel embarrassed if you win a championship? What kind of logic is that? "Best" is not a fact. It's only an opinion. Winning is a fact that actually happened.
I think there are just a lot of miserable people on here who don't enjoy anything other than championships. Which I guess means they haven't been happy since 1995.
does it really matter if we are second or third? we still have that time in '08 when we won 22 in a row.
I agree. Nobody can take that away. But second is definitely better than third. We can be proud that nobody in more than 3 decades has ever won 22 games in a row. If Miami passes us, we no longer can claim that.
This is what baffles me too. I guess it's this culture of "if you are not #1 you are nothing." This is so untrue in almost every facet of life. Why do people still believe that?
