Lol Rick Smith really ****ed up the cap situation and we have nothing to show for it.

We lost how many starters from the team that made the first playoff run?
2 OL, 1 OLB (maybe two if barwin bolts), 1 ILB, 1 WR, 1 FB, 1 TE & 1 DB

    Ouch

I've always been a Kubiak supporter (and Rick Smith by default since the two are a package deal) but the late season collapse really soured me on him. Hopefully he & smith are on the hot seat.

We have plenty to show for it. The only "bad" contract is probably shaub.

    1) Andre
    2) Foster
    3) Manning
    4) Joseph

All players that recently got huge money from us. Name me another bad contract. We just have a lot of good players that need to be paid. Draft picks really havent worked out.

Perhaps this is tied in with the fact that they are wanting to move Brooks Reed inside? Mercilus isn't a 4 down player, so they want to keep money for Barwin? Maybe they feel like they can go out and get a serviceable safety in free agency? I'm not really sure, but I'll let it play out.

gonna miss GQ, he was a hard worker and gave 100%. he was also a 4th rounder, compitent scouting can find a replacment in the draft. im more worried about what we do at nickel, do they bring back brice or hand it over to harris..

Manning was great the first year but very suspect after the bears game last season. Joseph sucked last year. Andre ain't getting younger.

how was manning suspect?? the entire secondary looked like toast because we played nothing but man and had no ilbs..

we have like 10 draft picks this year, people need to relax. losing quin, casey, walter, & barwin isnt going to break this team.

Disagree. Kareem Island looked good. GQ was probably our third best DB last year with manning coming in at 3 & JJo at 4

And just like that, the Texans window is shut. Colts are now the up and coming team in the division, already beat us last year and outplayed us the game that they lost. They have cap space and flexibility and Luck is only gonna get better. Colts are licking their chops at winning the division next year.

Texans keep losing key guys and the entire team is getting older. You just don't replace these guys with rookies and expect them to be as good. All while being stuck with a lame game managing QB who chokes under pressure and a stupid head coach who has no balls.

The Texans will still feed on mediocre to bad teams. Just wont compete with the contenders.

Seriously? Never could stand Kubiak. That 6-10 season, he's supposed to be an offensive mastermind and we couldn't even get into the red-zone.. which is still a problem to this day!

Then Wade turns this defense into a monster and gets us into the playoffs and everyone was praising Kubiak as COTY

Not just this man... one day into free agency and we've already lost 3 players and I doubt they will be the only cap casualties, and meanwhile all the free agents have been grabbed up.

Just saying, during the 6-10 season offense wasn't the problem at all. The Texans were top 5 in scoring and yards I thought? Anyways, if we could combine the offense of the mediocre years with Wade's defense (pre-late season collapse) I feel the Texans are the best team in the league. I just really don't know what happened with the team, offense, and Schaub late season.

Just like Jacoby Jones, I think Casey will be a huge producer on the Eagle's offense. I always thought he could be a game-changer in the passing game, but was never utilized.

Those dudes are planning year to year
They bought themselves 2 yrs with Manning and Joseph
It wrecked the cap .. . but what the hell . . .they got 2 more years out of it
that they would not have gotten otherwise

Like QB for example. I know...Schaub is the guy. The problem is that his best days are in the rear view. We have to find a QB who can take a busted play and pick up a few yards with his feet. Schaub can't do that.

I still don't understand the new obsession with QB's picking up a few rushing yards here and there... I don't think that is the problem with Schaub, he is just not playing as well and as loose as he did a few seasons ago it seems like. In the old days he would be throwing so much and would get on fire, but late season it seemed like he was so out of rhythm.
