^ Tania Ganguli @taniaganguli Wow, Glover Quin's agent just told me the #Texans never made an official offer for him. They talked conceptually at the combine. And, as @rapsheet reported, Quin's deal with the Lions is around $5 million a year for five years. #Texans
Pancakes was on SR610 and said there was a bidding war between Detroit and Houston. I should've know it was crap if it came from him
Wow, I gotta say i'm feel pretty let down by the Texans front office. It's funny, ravens were dismantled of many of their key players, but at least they got a superbowl out of it. What did the texans get? A couple of second round exits? I'm just frustrated as a fan. I question if they even know what they're doing.
That just doesn't make sense to me to not make an offer? Yes, he's not the best safety, but was good enough... who to believe?
Suddenly GQ is on the level of Ed Reed, Boldin, Kruger, etc? I get the frustration, but don't go overboard
I'll believe almost everyone over Cakes, but who the f is Tania Ganguli??? Is she the one that does sideline reporting for NFL Network? She's no Adam Schefter I know that much. If that's in fact her, I'm not sure who to trust on this one. Plus she gave credit to some dude named @rapsheet..... even more WTFs.....
Thanks, can't view twitter from work... That makes it even more dubious. Two fellow Chron reporters contradicting each other... they need to get their ish together over there.
by comparing our key losses to the Ravens' key losses (when he said they won a super bowl and we only had 2nd rnd appearances), he's implying they were of similar weight. They weren't. GQ is more easily replaced than the majority of the guys the Ravens have lost
Well, she made it sound as if she had just talked to Quin's agent. Plus she isn't Pancakes. I tend to believe the person who doesn't resemble a walrus.
It's not just Quin but Casey, Barwin, Mccain. Last year was Demeco Ryans, Mario, Winston, Briesel. The key is to keep your key free agents (Quinn, Barwin) and get rid of trash (Walter, S.Cody). It seems like the Texans front office are not capable of handling these free agent situations.
Judging from his response to your post, he was implying that the losses were of similar impact. So I was wrong. Sorry. We definitely haven't lost as much production as the Ravens have.
You at least have an argument with last year's group of 4 you mentioned. However, they did that and then had a better year than the previous one with the new cast. Granted, the run game took a nosedive and needs help. But your argument against last year's group of 4 is that you wanted to keep them and get rid of who exactly? Because keeping them wasn't doable. This year's group was keep-able. But a) we don't know the replacements yet b) they're not on the Pro Bowl caliber, so let's not put them on the Boldin or Winston level
Tania Ganguli @taniaganguli "U want to go somewhere where u’re wanted, where u’re appreciated for the things you’ve done & the things you can do" GQ in Detroit ... Quin said in Detroit some teammates reached out and wanted him back, "but they’re not the guys that make decisions." ... When Quin was asked in Detroit how hard the #Texans pursued him, he said "I'm not really here to talk about the Texans." @gloverquin29: Just want to say thank you to the Detroit Lions organization & coaches for giving me an opportunity to continue my career! ... Thank you to the Texans for giving me an a opportunity to start my career in the NFL and have 4 goods years with them!! ... Also want to thank the Texans fans for all their support over my 4 yrs there! It was fun.. @jamescasey86: Thank you to the Texans organization & the great Houston fans for 4 amazing years.... It was a great run!
