Not unless he is walking away for nothing. Then they'd be begging for a sign and trade to get Rondo. ; )

Asik is all the center we need. Wouldn't mind trading Lin though. Lin is an okay PG, we could do better.

Any one can be traded if they end up getting better after the deal, that much is obvious, if the heat suddenly lost their mind and wants to trade Lebron for Harden (plus anything else) . you bet you the beard is out on the next flight, hell Morey probably will personally catapult him to miami with a cannon.

But obviously that is super unlikely to happen.

Anyone who's done some sales probably understand Morey's general approach. everything is on the table, he's interesting in any talks for any one, but a pretty damn sweet deal have to come across for him to pull the trigger.

I'll say this again, guess what, even Harden is availible, if the right deal actually comes, but that is super unlikely, he's actively shopping no one, he wasn't actively shopping Patterson either, he just got blown away by the King's stupid offer . (ok he might have actively shopped Morris.)

I've watched Jeremy when he first came into the league with the warriors and thought he could improve to be a serviceable pg which obviously has happened. I just wish that some people would get it through their thick skulls that Jeremy Lin is not going to be the premier player on this team, for that matter any team in the league.

    I prefer this:

Howard $18 (force that diva to take a cut ;)) Mozgov $3.5 [MIN]
Trob $3 mil Motiejunas $1.5 [MIN]
    Parsons $1 Delfino $3 [MIN]
    Harden $14 J.Anderson $1 [MIN]
    CP3 $18 Beverly $800k [MIN][/QUOTE]

we already have the roster of cheap players to make it work!

the poster rolled his eyes like...ohh yes rockets will have no way of putting a solid roster around 50 million to 3 players.

the projected cap is going to be around 69-70 milion next year. That leaves 18-20 million in free money...they the hard cap will be around 75 mil. So we have up to 23-25 million to play with.

    Parsons = 900k , back up PG beverly 800k , D-mo 1.5 mil , T-rob 3mil , Delfino 3 mil, brooks 2.5 , tim olbercht 800k , greg smith 800 k , T jones 1.3 mil

So just signing these guys out right and moving lin and asik in the sign and trades to get them... we would just be over the cap. Prob have to not pick up either brooks or delfinos option to make sure we work both sign and trades, and still have the ability to do another sign and trade.

But the rest of the roster is perrty much set...then after if we are still lower then the salary we can work sign and trades. If not we can still use the mid level exception of approx 3 mil to add a 3rd role player.

Morey has already set the team up to run with 3 big money players. He basically did what the heat did 2012 summer....but smarter. Instead of trading all our money players for nothing...we have leaned up naturally through incremental trades and retained our cap space as well as most assets.

This team is designed around paying for 2 max if not 3 max players. You people have been on this site long enough to know this....come on guys!.

Our roster situation is exactly why i feel so confident that we will make a serious run at cp3 and Howard.

Ooh, "type of people": fascinating. Please tell us more! What type of person am I?

Let me say, I am grateful to Jeremy for wanting the team to do well. Thanks Jeremy!

Now, I was here on Clutchfans in 2006, before Jeremy came, and I'm still here now. That's the end of that story. You are on Jeremy's tip because he is Asian, and you are the one mentioning his race.

To answer your question "would there be this much talk about an 8 mil PG if he wasn't Asian?" no: a lot of LOF's would not be filling up this board in 2013, except that Lin is Asian.

Nah if Lin wasn't asian, he could shoot 7% or 6% from three point land and average 4TOs a game for his career and still be considered "a ton of potential" and "future top 5 PG" every season like John Wall

    Way too premature.

People love to talk about Lin's marketability, but it completely ignores the fact he's legitimately good.

He is one of the premier player on this team already. You lose him and the team would probably head south with the other two guards. When he's playing at his best he looks as good as any elite guards out there.

It's not just about his race. People are rooting for him because of his underdog story and because of the type of character that he has shown.

In some levels, there is an analog between Lin fans and Tebow fans in that the fans just want them to do well because of the type of person they are.

Good thing the analog ends there because Lin has been rewarding his fans as well as the Rockets fans with good play whereas Tebow really haven't shined.

Aren't these the same two players who Morey regretted not drafting? Don't see it happening anytime soon.

I don't see them move this off-season. Next year, very possible. after all, they are not like "the future of franchise" at all. only 2 years left on the book.

Lob City would never give up Paul for Rondo.

That doesn't work anymore. New CBA means you cannot make use of bird rights in a S&T. Paul cannot get more money from a S&T than he would from walking, so anyone wanting to sign him as a FA doesn't have to worry about giving up resources for a S&T.

is there a quicker PG than Lin? i love his speed...solid on defense...solid on steals ....if he improves midrange there you have a nearly perfect PG...
