My favorite day of the week. Mark Appel and Stanford will have this weekend off. He'll be back in action next Friday against Utah in the opening weekend of Pac-12 play. Sean Manaea will have an opportunity to make up some ground on Appel tonight. Indiana State will be kicking off a series with Minnesota tonight at 6:35. It'll be a big pitching matchup tonight, as the Gophers will go with lefty Tom Windle. Last Friday, in a 3-0 win over Western Illinois, Windle fired the first no-hitter in Gopher history. He's expected to come off the board early this June. Here's to hoping that Windle will be there at 2-1. Jonathan Gray will take the mound for OU on Saturday against Northwestern State. Ryne Stanek is now the Sunday starter for Arkansas; the Razorbacks open up the SEC slate this weekend by welcoming Ole Miss to Fayetteville. The Rebels feature RHP Bobby Wahl, who is also expected to be a 1st-rounder in June. The previous episode of The Kris Bryant Show concluded with a walk-off 3-run homer last night, giving San Diego a 7-5 win over BYU in the West Coast Conference opener for both teams. What will he have in store tonight? After last night, Bryant's triple slash line stands at .400/.576/1.000 with 10 homers and 19 RBI. He's walked 23 times and struck out 14. Rodon Watch: The Wolfpack will be kicking off ACC play against Wake Forest tonight.

Wild finish at the Metrodome!!! Sean Manaea uncorked a wild pitch with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th but he managed to tag out the runner at the plate and Indiana State escapes with a 2-1 win! This was a pitchers' duel, alright. Both starters went the distance. Manaea allowed an unearned run on 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. That 1 walk loaded the bases. 5 of the 6 hits he gave up came in the 7th-9th innings. Tom Windle was the hard-luck loser. He allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. He also hit 2 batters.
JoeChristensen (@JoeCStrib): MLB draft prospect Sean Manaea rolled his right ankle tonight, celebrating the controversial game-ending call by the plate umpire. Retweeted by Perfect Game Greg Sabers (@gsabers): Having seen about 50 MLB games in the Metrodome back when the #Twins played there. Both IN St's Sean Manaea (up to 95) and MN's Tom Windle.. @gsabers: up to 93, would fit in. Great game last night. Barring injury hard not to see both of them having gd MLB careers. Manaea pot. FL starter Keith Law also submitted his thoughts on Manaea last night... as usual, it's Insider content. Here is a thread on Manaea on Twins Daily with the link to the article. Law notes that Manaea was at 92-94 in the 1st.
Please don't judge based on youtube videos of high school games. The competition can be abysmal. You need to look at the summer league select games to get a better look at how a HS guy plays versus decent competition. Of course, Frazier performed well in these select leagues, but my point is not to judge based on a these videos of HS games.
Jonathan Gray was placed into the Friday starter spot this weekend and he fired a complete game shutout of Northwestern State, allowing 5 hits and striking out 12 in a 1-0 win for OU. Previously, on The Kris Bryant Show:

Oh boy. @usdbaseball 3B Kris Bryant hit his 12th homer of season, as the #Toreros defeated #BYU to take that series.
