    One of two options...
Barwin stays, Reed gets moved inside, Mercilus starts

    Or

Barwin go bye, bye, Reed stays outside, Mercilus starts, ILB drafted within 2nd round

As much as Barwin sucked, he is a work out freak, and maybe his athleticism will overcome last year...plus Reed with Cushing would be very nice as our ILBs...thoughts?

I heard some guys on the radio a week or two ago talking about Barwin saying that he put on 10 lbs last offseason. As a result, he was better against the run but always a little late getting to the QB. That if he dropped back down a little, he could be like he was 2 years ago.

Still, I prefer the latter option.

I prefer the first option. I'm a true believer on having all your best players on the field. If Wade Phillips believes that Brooks Reed can move to ILB, then i'm on board.

Yes, Barwin had an off year, but so what. Clay Matthews got only 6 sacks in '11 and came back to pro bowl form this year. I expect Barwin to play up to our standards this year.

I like your option two, only we will need to bring in a couple vets on small money at the OLB and ILB spots. We can get someone like Arthur Brown or Kevin Minter in the sencond or third round for the future.

Second option. Why ILB in the second round? Could be first round (Minter, Te'o or Ogletree) also.

BTW, Barwin isn't worth the money anyway.

As bad as Barwin was last year, I still think he'd be the best option (at the right price). I think his low sack numbers had a lot to do with JJ beating him to the QB every play, which is somewhat understandable. I'd rather address the WR2, ILB or nose tackle situations early in the draft. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles overpay Barwin and we can't match.

Exactly what happened. At his natural weight teammates said he was the best athlete on the team. If we get him back at good value i'm sure his offseason training program will be different

Looks like the choice was made. Kinda happy with outcome tbh.
