Who cares. Streaks are meant to be broken and Miami is completely superior than that team. Oh, AND we don't even own the longest winning streak record.
No one outside of Houston gives a crap. I still don't get why people here celebrate a meaningless streak, even more so when it's not even the longest in history. It's in no record books and we didn't win anything meaningful that season. I'd understand the hype if it was part of a championship season, but with the team achieving nothing in the playoffs it means nothing at all. Celebrating streaks or other records is stupid to me, they are worthless.
I think I'm one of the few that really don't care. Yeah, it was a magical streak. It seemed...unlikely. But I'm pretty sure we went out in the first round that season too so it was like what did it even mean? Maybe we could get a movie out of it 10 years or so from now named 'Moreyball' or something.
heat snapping our streak would prevent conversations like this... "WHOA ROCKETS WENT ON A 22 GAME WINNING STREAK!?!? " "yeah it's fkn dope aint it? just breezin by everyone like they aint s**t" "daam, yall must've destroyed teams in the playoffs huh? prolly swept the first two rounds lol, good s**t brah" "well, actually uhh-" "hold on, ima call da homies. WE GONNA GET HIGH TONIGHT DAWG! " " "
They should exceed our streak and some other team should exceed MIA's streak. That's how it is supposed to be.
Oh yeah, they definitely got this, guaranteed, no doubt, stamped, booked, sealed, clinched, nailed down, in the mf'in bag, too easy! Ship it.
I for one have fonder memories of the '09 playoffs (our one meaningful playoff run in the last 10 years) than the win streak, to be honest.
I agree with the posters who do not care. It was an amazing streak, but it was not the longest streak ever. Furthermore the Heat are a much better team than our team was during the streak. We won 22 games in a row, but lost in the first round of the play-offs.
Serious questions. Why? How will it affect you if the Heat becomes the team to have the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history? What is the difference between having the 2nd longest and 3rd longest winning streak in NBA history? Without looking it up, who held the record for the 2nd longest winning streak prior to the Rockets?
We don't hold the record, so if they pass us it doesn't make our streak and less impressive than it already was. I bet that not many people outside of Houston can tell you who owns the NBA's second longest win streak. Let's face it, this is something that we as Rocket's fans hold on to because it was magical to watch, just because one team passes it doesn't change that for us.
Oh wow I actually got it right! Well atleast partially since it was 2 teams tied it looks like. But for some reason I actually remembered one of them.
