I could see another 8 in 9 or another 13 in 33 type performance.

Seeing another 80 point kind of performance though? I feel like that won't come around for quite some time.

Not if Westbrook keeps taking more shots than Durant....

I'm still literally stunned that Westbrook out-shoots Durant. The fact that that flies with Scott Brooks is hilarious.

Honestly Harden has a shot IMO.

Not a homer opinion, but on his best nights he gets like 30 points on 13 shots or something.

Now imagine him having one of those super efficient nights...but then taking a lot more shots? I could see him dropping 70 or some insane number yes.

But then again he hardly ever takes as many shots as Kobe or some of those other guys who did.

13 in 33 is still possible and can even be accomplished by super efficient scorers like Lebron, Durant and Harden some day. However huge scoring feats like Kobe's 81 pts against a poor raptors team will be very difficult to replicate in the future barring any intervening rule change as defenses continue to improve.

well Reggie did 8 in 9 seconds (actually less than 9) and in the playoffs at that. what's another 4 points in 24 seconds. Happened before, will happen again.

I'm not that impressed with the 81 points, The most important skill you need to score 81 is being a ball hog. Durant is a much better scorer than Kobe (and more efficient), if he was a ball hog like Kobe is he could score 81 points.
Kobe shot more than Half of his entire teams shots (against a terrible defensive team).

Prior to any of these things happening, would you have thought they could happen?

Why not? In the future, robots will be playing the game and can shoot 100% from any where on the court so they can score 100 points per minute :D

Think many guys could break the 81, but no one is that kind of a selfish player. Let Durant take 3/4 of the shots in a good scoring game and I don't think it'd be that far-fetched.

well, Kobe had to shoot in that game, they had a crappy team that was having a really bad day and they would've lost in a blowout if Kobe didn't go into Kobe mode and get really hot. His last few points were a bit shaky but for the most part he was doing what he had to do.

Basically, put Durant or LeBron on the Bobcats, i think they'd have a chance.
The problem is that if a guy scores 60+, it's generally a blowout by 3rd quarter. It's very rare that the other team is having a great game like the Raptors back then and you have an excuse to shoot until the last minute.
Kobe himself would've topped that mark later that year vs. the Mavs, only the Mavs bent over and got blown out early.

Holy cow you've been watching basketball for an entire week???

Anyway, that could all definitely happen again. But the least likely is Reggie Miller's accomplishment. That was just ridiculous and requires some pretty severe ineptitude for the opponent in addition to greatness for the one doing it.
