You may have a point, but then I don't usually listen to coaches of others teams that I don't follow.

I know Mike Woodson accept blames. He said it in several occasions of Knicks games losts.

    I love his interviews...

Now in regards to taking some of the blame...he hasnt really dont it much this year...so no reason to expect it now...

But to be fair to Mchale, when the Rockets are doing well...he isnt taking credit on his end either...

wtf does "bad rotations" have to do with TO's and rebounding. The coach can't take care of the ball and box out for you. Sometimes it is the players' fault and I'd rather have McHale point that out now with a young team than later.

And it seems like Knicks fans don't really like the guy. Taking blame or not taking blame isn't really a big deal honestly. It won't change anything.

You're aware that coaching extends beyond game time?

Mchale has been pissing me off lately, but the fact that last game pissed him off that much too is a good sign. For the way the team played, they need a fire lit under there asses. The rebounding point was big, I still remember that offensive rebound that phoenix got because Lin/Asik didn't take the extra step and waited too long.

Bingo, you hit the nail on the head. Some people on here need to step into the real world and realize what a working enviornment is like , especially when you're paid to just play basketball.

The day Adelman was fired was one of the angriest I've ever been at the organization, but Mchale is growing on me in this regard.

Hopefully he gets AB and Olb. some PT because the effort that Smith and some of the others are putting in sometimes just doesn't cut it.

I think Harden really benefits from having a coach who is very hard to impress. Parsons is another. McHale expects these guys to play like his old Celtics, and he might push Parsons farther than anyone expected.

Hard to truly criticize rotations when the players you put out there aren't doing what is expected of them.

McHale is not the boss. He's just a coworker.

This game, meaning the Phoenix, game was especially despressing right from the start. Lazy rebounding and more TOs then assists from your starting two guards just spells doom in so many ways. The fast break differential was also alarming....

The reality is, the Rockets coaching philosophy is to give players a lot of freedom on offense and no freedom on defense. We have an offensive philosophy, and players improvise. On defense, is where most of the coaching is emphasized.

And we've sucked on D and rebounding all year, only to be bailed by Asik most times. We've not held Harden accountable on D. We've sucked with substitutions. We've lost too many games against sub .500 teams. We're 9-18 on games decided by 8 points or less. When we've needed rebounding, we've played small and sometimes not even playing Asik. We are one of the worst teams in the league in terms of defending the corner 3, which is a staple of our efficient offense so we know how important it is.

We've not developed our bench enough, we keep on overplaying our key players, and among playoff teams we probably have the worst western conference record, one of the worst away record and probably the worst back-to-back records (overplaying key players and not building bench contribution all season long).

I find it hard to believe McHale has no fault in any of this. Is he a passable coach? Yes, good in some areas bad in others. But cannot be faulted? When we've won on offense and it is mostly freelance PnR and swinging the ball (and give it to Harden when that fails ... and frequently giving it to Harden before trying anything else), and we've lost mostly on defense and it is what the coaching staff supposedly works on.
