Has anyone heard the rumor that Daft Punk is playing a show this week on the steps of the Capitol!? Please be true. Please be true.

 

It's all over my FB feed. I just saw a post about "Rocket Room 6" and another about being Wednesday...

I heard the Capitol rumor is fake, but that doesn't rule out a SXSW performance in general. There's been Daft Punk billboards around Austin

 

viral advertising, so smart of them. even if they dont have a performance, they have brilliantly marketed their new album

 

try harder!

 

Just got the wristband pickup email for the FADER FORT!

So many good artists/bands this year. Depeche Mode, Prince, Timberlake, Hawtin, Deadmau5, Smashing Pumpkins, Flaming Lips, Kanye (?), Daft Punk (??)!!

If daft punk is playing I will be there.

 

Will be picking up all wristbands today (Fader Fort, SXSW, Hype Hotel, Pandora, etc.)!!! Let's do this!

haha did you make it in to see Passion Pit? I'm not working til later this week

 

Due to the amount people that want to see this they are doing a drawing for badge holders to get in. Same thing with the Nick Cave, YYY and Cafe Tacvaba and the Sound City All-Star group show.

I only have a wristband so I feel like I have zero chance of getting into any of these shows or the Prince show for that matter.

 

You have a .00000001% chance of getting into any of those shows.

Seriously though, the benefits of the wristband have gone to virtually nil over the past few years. You can skip a few lines to some middle of the pack shows, but the best shows are badges or invite only.

 

Yeah I won one, that's the only reason I have the wristband. In previous years I found plenty to do without badge mainly during the day. This year there seems to be even more stuff at night that is essentially free. Even rides, I have used the SideCar app since SX started, highly recommend it to anyone looking for a ride or not wanting to drive down and worry about parking or paying for a Taxi.

 

i got into all the shows i wanted last year with the wristband. let's see how it goes this year.

I have never been to Austin during sxsw, was planning on gettin a hotel with some friends this weekend. Is it worth going up there simply for the party scene on 6th, if there is one? I'm not going to any concerts
