Why would CP3 want to leave the Clippers? They've probably got the deepest team in the league right now. CP3 will probably have a lot of influence in the front office if he re-signs. He's practically already the coach of the team. LA is a more attractive destination than Houston. There isn't any reason for him to leave just to play with Harden.

Steven A Smith said today that Howard said it's been good for him to play with Kobe. Smith says he thinks Howard will stay with the Lakers (with Houston making a serious push). And Steven Smith is more reliable when it comes to these things unlike Sam Smith.

Howard has always said he wanted to BE Hollywood and now he's in Hollywood on a team that can give him over 100 million bucks and the Rockets can't and Houston ain't L.A. So many of you may as well kill the "Howard to the Rockets" pipedream now and save yourselves the headache. Didn't you learn your lesson last off-season people...???

Same with Chris Paul, he's going to take that 5 year max with the Clippers and stay with Blake. So may as well kill that pipedream too...

Plus, Harden is a ball dominating combination guard and CP3 would dilute his effectiveness. As good as Harden is at this stage of his young career being a ball dominant guard just imagine what he will be doing 2 years from now and CP would kill that. Rockets need a point guard that can catch and shoot (which Lin only very seldom can do) to pair with Harden and that's not CP3's game. And Chris Paul is a knee bump away from being out for the portion of the season.

And Lin may be coming off the bench after this season if he doesn't get it together but Alexander will not let Morey trade him.

Well they are deep now. But, old. How much longer will Caron, Crawford play at a high level? Then you got Billups, Hill, Odom prob retiring this year. That leaves bledsoe, barnes and 2 athletic guys who can't do anything but dunk which will soon prove won't amount to anything in the half court style of the playoffs.

I'm not saying he will leave. I say he stays. But, it will be a mistake.

Rockets can't win close games because rockets can't shut anybody down during crunch time.

It's not like they can't sign new, younger guys. The Clippers is probably one of the teams players will want to play for considering how well they're doing this season.

At the moment i agree. They are one of the youngest and least experienced teams though, and i think that means inconsistency with both offence and defense. I do think we will eventually get better once we have a full season playing together and building chemistry (atleast i hope so).

Oh, Stephen A. changed his mind? :p

Before, it was Dwight was leaving, Dwight doesn't want to be in LA, LA wasn't his choice, rinse and repeat. Now he's staying. Cool. Thanks Stephen A.! :)

the rockets are better off not signing either.

spend that max contract slot on a couple of solid nba players like OJ Mayo, Paul Millsap maybe even add a third one instead of spending all that money on one player. The team will be better for it. Gives us more depth and assets that are easier to move and gives us more choices.

Instead of Dwight or Bynum... or even Josh Smith

Shouldn't we go after replacements for Delfino and Garcia during the offseason?

Maybe sign Wesley Johnson and/or Xavier Henry. Kid never got a chance to show his skills. Maybe even try to pry away Tiago Splitter and develop our bigs.

Haven't we had enough of Injury-prone/Major-manical ego players?

First of all, Rockets need to upgrade their coaching staff before they could lure superstars like CP3.

Too tired to read the thread, but Sam Smith has never been right. He is a Chicago homer and likes to stir up crap when it comes to the Rockets. Probably still butthurt that we stole Asik from them.

If people knew what they know now about Harden _ he would still be in OKC or somewhere else...

Morey is going to have to hit on a player ready to break out like he did with Harden or overpay for guys like Smith or Jefferson _ or try to trade for LMA or Love _ or hope the players in place get better.

LeBron and Bosh left Canada and Cleveland to play in Miami, South Beach. CP3 and Howard are not going to leave Hollywood California to play in Texas.
