    ha, sam smith?
the same sam smith that said we would trade tmac in 2006 to chi city?
the same sam smith that said we would trade tmac in 2007 to chi city?
the same sam smith that said we would trade tmac in 2008 to chi city?

eventually sam smith will be right though.

Given they have traded literally every single player on their roster over the last three years. I have no doubt Morey won't hesitate to do it. If you can trade Asik+Lin for howard I would do it.

Yes, it is absolutely nuts to think Paul would be willing to walk away from there. Maybe just a little more nuts than the notion that the Thunder would trade James Harden for 2 flapjacks and a couple dice rolls......but not much more nuts than that....just slightly.

When a sentence has two maybe's in it, I don't think it's terribly reliable any more.

lol why is it nuts? The notion Lebron was going to leave Cleavland is nuts...blah blah blah.

Howard, Cp3, Parsons, Harden >>>>>>>>>>>>>> over blake

    like and not even close.

Morey is showing he is a great GM...and Les and owner craving to win and willing to spend.

Clippers maybe one of the worst ran organizations in history until lucking out with blake and being gifted cp3 by the commissioner. They have one of the worst owners in history.

Why would you not think they will eventually screw up...I would.

Not to mention cp3 and harden are really close friends...he said that harden is his sons favorite player.

The biggest point...Houston is the only place they can all 3 play together...plus morey has built a team with assets and value contracts like parsons to show he can manage a super team and still put quality parts around them on the cheap.

But the new team will have to actually pay them 15 million in the third year. The rockets are only paying lin and asik 5 mil this year despite the actual cap hit.

Not quite, he used to have a column where he wrote about jis fantasy trade scenarios. He never misled his readers, just overestimated them.

The cap hit is all that matters. It doesnt matter if the billionaire owner is going to pay an extra couple milion out of pocket.

If that were the case more teams wouldn't care about being a cent over the tax.

Turnover rate is pretty crazy with Morey. It's like you're just taking a vacation in Houston.

This opens up some cool possibilities though of having a big three.

Rockets fans have been dreaming of ripping off other organizations for years - trading your mediocre players plus "picks" for Super Stars.

Morey, make it work at least once!

Harden was a special case, because OKC can't afford 3 maxes at the same time.

As the level Lin is playing now, Lin + "picks" won't get you CP3 for sure. But Asik + Lin? I am not sure, a remote maybe? But Rockets ended up with maybe best backcourt duo in the league with Harden and CP3, and vacancy in the front court?

How are we going to get Howard then? If there is no Howard nor Asik ...

If they had a championship condending team they prolly wouldnt care. Owners dont want to pay over the tax if they arent in the running for a championship. Atleast most non cheapskate owners.

    Vewy, vewy quiet, I hear.

(ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhh) Dey're huntin' wabbits. Wook. Wabbit twacks. Huh huh huh huh huh

By the way, I lived in Iowa and used to read the Chicago Tribune (for lack of a major newspaper) all the time. Sam Smith's articles were fun but more akin to an older, whiter version of "Slam!" magazine than to The Sporting News.

Naturally we'd move anybody not named Harden to get another Top 5 talent here. No news there. We also have the $$$ to sign one of them outright, IF we can find a sucke---er, trade partner---to take a contract for a draft pick and thus free up even more money.

Its not a matter of lin + picks getting you cp3....He is a free agent and can walk to any team he chooses.

All rockets have to do is show ability to sign him out right and they creates motivation for clippers to sign and trade for anything we want to give them...theyd be lucky to get lin and picks. Lucky.

Clippers are not going to let CP3 walk and just get Lin and Asik in return. They have Deandre and Blake, they don't really need Asik.

That's the fantasy trade scenario part. Got to keep them seperated.

It's like reading Chad Ford's articles. He's respected by his peers for being so well connected/networked and having info but his player assesments fall way short. Seperate the two and he's worth reading.

Is there any compelling reason for CP3 to come here, because Harden is his friend?:D

The Clippers are a lot more talented and competitive than us right now. Besides, other teams might want to put together a deal to trade for Paul as well.

Harden and Parsons are the only untouchables on this team, for as good as Asik rebounds he cant catch the ball, and he is insanely slow unathletic
