Honestly, I haven't seen him play since the All Star break, but I saw several games before and he was horrible--didn't run the floor, didn't rebound, barely moved. Plus he looked very unmotivated. Even though Kobe has apparently lit a fire under his rear, I am not excited about his "attitude" coming here. He can start sulking at any moment. But you are right, vintage Howard playing his best is formidable. I am just not sure that the risk and the money are worth it. Asik is solid, let's go with a superstar PF.

yeah, I'm very confident that Houston will be on Smith's short-list come the offseason. It will allow us to offer less than those desperate starless teams willing to overpay. Smith would be a pretty good value at $12 or $13 mil per. I think a lot depends on how much progress DMo and Robinson continue to make through the rest of the year.

The first thing Morey does this off season is go after the Paul/Howard combo. If he can get both guys to commit, he can get it done. Send Asik/Lin to Boston, Rondo to Clippers, Clips sign and trade Paul to Houston. Sign Dwight outright. That's play #1.

Josh Smith is down around our 3rd or 4th play.

CP3 isn't leaving the Clips. Not when they're title contenders.

And frankly, Howard leaving the other LA team is growing more and more unlikely the more they win. Unless Houston pulls off a miracle run and getting farther then the Lakers do in the postseason, I don't see him leaving now.

Josh Smith is the best we could do. Maybe sign Bynum to a 1 year deal +team options if he bites.

Bynums knees are shot, degenerative, which means they are getting worse with time. I say hell no, the Rockets will be in the same predicament the 76ers are in now. I believe this is the writers spinning their wheels. Howard or stay pat at Center and MAYBE J Smith, although I think his inconsistency will doom us also, not thrilled for him.

It's a longshot. But it's the first play Morey is going to make if those two don't re-sign with their clubs the first day of free agency.

If Josh Smith is the best we can do, it is because our first 3 or 4 options didn't work out and we are signing Smith as a future trade chip.

The Rockets should go after Bynum and Iggy. Both players are max worthy and can help this team contend for multiple championships.

It's not Bynum's play so much as his knees that worry me. That's a lot of money to go on the injury list, especially if the degenerative knee reports are true. Look at the mess Morey had to dig out from under when major salaries were tied up in Yao's and T-Mac's injuries. A max salary to a Bynum who is always on the injury list or whose play slowly starts to decline due to degenerative knees would waste a lot of Harden's prime years.

If we can't land Howard, and the Lakers amnesty Gasol I think that landing paul can be a great option.
We can sign him cheap for maybe 6 or 7 million for 1 year.
And Gasol can be our PF still Dmo or Trob step up or in 1 year we can pick Larmarcus Aldridge as FA.

The Lakers are NOT going to amnesty Pau Gasol. They can get some value for him in trades and still mitigate their luxury tax issues. If they put Pau on the market, I guarantee you that they'll get multiple offers that would entice the Lakers far more than amnestying Gasol.

MWP is the guy they'll likely amnesty.

this is nothing but smokescreen. So teams will go after Howard, Josh, or Bryum. Where we will be quietly snatch up some cheap good returns.
