How about Dirk to Boston for Rondo and Green?

If I were the Mavs, I would think very seriously about that. They need a PG, and I think Green could be a really good player.

I don't see Dirk leaving Dallas. He brought them their only championship (Mavericks) and has been with them since he was drafted. It would be wrong to see him retire somewhere else. Speaking of which, how many of us feel that Hakeem should have stayed here in Houston and retired a Rocket (Even though EVERYONE knows his greatness is with Houston)? I feel the same would apply to Dirk.

I really like this trade for Dallas. They get the point guard help they need and a young up and commer. Might need to send another piece or draft pick to Boston though.

Boston was the team that almost drafted Dirk, but Dallas got there first. The only holdup to this (IMHO) is Boston getting older....but they might feel there is enough for one more run with Pierce, KG, Dirk.

They won't because Cuban is an honorable man and runs a classy team.

Danny Granger & Tyler Hansbourgh for Dirk.

Why not ask Tyson Chandler, Jason Terry or even Steve Nash if that is true. All left town on far less than friendly terms with Cubes.

I don't think that is true. Chandler said as soon as he saw the new CBA, he knew Dallas couldn't keep him. Tyson has said he wanted them to at least make an offer---but they did! $20M for one year. They were up front with Jet, indicating they weren't going to sign him long term. They also made it clear he had a spot in management there in Dallas down the Road. Only reason either JET or Tyson is upset is that they really wanted to stay in Dallas.

I haven't really heard about Nash being upset either. He visited with Phoenix, who made him an offer that would be ridiculous for any other team. They told him he had to accept within a couple hours. He called Cuban and informed him of the offer and the time frame, and Cuban said he couldn't do that. Nash liked Phoenix, so this was hardly a downer for him. Worked out ok both ways: Dirk and Nash won the next three MVP's.

Always tough with these kind of things, on the one hand from a pure basketball sense it would be the right decision to trade him. On the flip side, I'm sure most Dallas fans want him to retire a Maverick.

So I hope they trade him just to make Mavs fans angry.

Terry, Chandler, Nash were all acquired from elsewhere. Dirk is a Mav for life.
