That was the point of the rest of my post you edited out for some reason... they have no delivery vehicle except for a train or double wide semi-truck.

It's clear you lack faith in America's top diplomat to NK -- Dennis Rodman -- shame on you.

relax. whatever technology North Korea has is 40 years behind the U.S.

and whatever technology the U.S. says it has is in reality 50+ years ahead of what they show to to the general public.

that's almost a damn century of differing levels of technology. North Korea might as well be a pre-industrial revolution country.

I edited out the rest because the part that I included was the only portion that I took issue with - North Korea does, in fact, have an ICBM.

As far as I know, everything else you posted was accurate.

Call NK's bluff, go to war, then rescind all China debt?

South Korean Defense spokesman: "If DPRK attacks with nuclear weapons, the Kim Jong Un regime will become extinct'

Yonhap- N. Korean general says Pyongyang has nuke-tipped ICBMs on standby

North Korean official newspaper. "War with South Korea is inevitable"

Kim Jung Un promises a 'great advance' over the border between the two nations

South Korean President Park Geun-hye vowed Friday to deal strongly with North Korean provocation. "Our current security situation is very grave."

"A top Chinese Communist party official suggested that China abandon North Korea and support unification with South Korea."

it is being reported North Korea has begun "unusual" military movements......

North Korea's timing is perfect. Zero carriers in the Pacific, and USS George Washington is in a 6 month maintenance that began in Feb.

If NK has a real military conflict beyond a spitting match (i.e, one that truly threatened them), they will launch everything they have at Seoul and try to kill as many people and wreak as much havoc as possible before they go down. They'd surely send parting gifts to Japan also.

So, no, the U.S. can't call their bluff and go to war. Everyone realizes this. Old news.

From the standpoint of the U.S. and allies, the ideal is (1) for the regime to collapse from within or (2) for it to slowly open up to the world. I just cannot see #2 happening. Some South Koreans are fatalistic and think a military conflict that causes massive damage and loss of life is inevitable. Depends on how fast the U.S. could destroy NK's ability to launch missiles.

I don't see the regime falling apart from within either. There's too strong of a cult of personality, too harsh punishments for suspected dissent. Only way the Kim regime leaves is if it's replaced by a military junta (in which case the status would still remain the same).

Without war, nothing will change. But a war with the North will be costly, both in blood and money.

Kim il-sung perfected the dictatorship. He was a ****ty economist, a tyrant, and a terrible man but probably the smartest dictator ever. N. Korea's an impenetrable fortress.

He probably wanted to meet that black US President and his entourage told him it's this guy:

When he finally figured out that they sent the wrong guy, he decided to threaten to nuke them.

I'm being serious when I say this, it may seem completely 'out there' but I'm serious

Knowing North Korea's propaganda and what they tell their public about U.S... Do you think they are showing off Rodman to them to manipulate their public in to thinking that-that is infact how we all are? Making us out as tribal savages with piercings and tats head to toe.

If we take over then they would also have to be like that, like Rodman because thats how we all are.

It's not like North Koreans have never seen Americans before Dennis Rodman. If they are seeing him on TV, then they've seen Obama, Bush, the Olympics, etc.

Some may have. North Korea is the most isolated nation in the world. They pretty much only have one radio station which does nothing but praise their leader, and have no real access to any information outside of the world.

At one point the radio was telling them that they were so strong that they needed to be patriotic and remember some military action against the Japanese where the Koreans were starving but fought on. So the govt. told them to remember the march and cut back to two meals a day or something close to that.

They are horribly isolated there, more so than any place else in the world.

I know this is semantics, but they're not the most isolated.

Right - but the only ones that are seeing Dennis Rodman are the ones with TVs. Those people would have then been able to see Obama, Bush, the Olympics, etc. I don't think there's some crazy attempt to make people think everyone in America looks like Dennis Rodman.

To control a people, they must be constantly in fear. This is why NK has to keep the saber rattling up, because it helps rally the peasants around their false God.

Not much different than how neocons do things, actually.
