I was wondering if it might be an endurance issue. This season he has been pretty bad in the second of every back to back games. Not sure if it's related to his injury or it's just his overall conditioning but it may also explain why the coaching staff has been limiting his rotation minutes in the fourth.

I can understand most people's frustration, Lin drives me nuts at times as well... But we gotta set the expectation right.

Lin has been inconsistent, thats right, but that should be expected --- new team, new players and most importantly, a brand new role in which hes not the primary ball handler.

If anything, have a look at Nash's stats after Kobe took over as the primary ball handler. In 22 games, Nash averaged 13.2pts/5.5ast/2.6to with similar USG% to Jeremy. Nash shoots a lot better, but other than that, their stats are identical.

I think it's related to McHale's mixed instructions:
"Jeremy's got to be aggressive. We've always told Jeremy to be aggressive."

    and

"Sometimes he'd rather get 29 points and 9 turnovers. I told him, we are trying to win here!"

    I would be frustrated too..

Nothing wrong with what McHale is saying.

There is a difference between being aggressive and playing out of control.

Look at all of Lin's big scoring games this season and you'll see the turnovers are quite low.

Lin has been really consistent in playing really bad in 2nd game of b2b, so no matter what was the reason, his minutes in 2nd game of b2b should be limited.

Yup, unfortunately yesterday, Beverley could not do anything against the other team's second unit, so Lin had to be utilized in the 4th even though it was apparent he was gassed from playing 37 min the night before.

I think they were willing to limit him in this game but Beverly looked lost for some reason. Brooks will get burn in the future but probably needs a few more practices in the offense.

Jlin's stats on 2nd game of b2b are freakin terrible

    In 18 games

    11.5 ppg, 5.3 assists, 3.4 TO, 27.1 3 pt percentage, 36.9 FG percentage in 32 minutes.
Those stats are worthy of the Dleague.

Why are yall making these excuses? thats what i dont understand.

Every team in the NBA, and every starting player is going to have to learn to play Back to back games. Harden does it, parsons does it. Lin is no exception to the rest of the league meaning he shouldn't be able to perform well in B2B games. Thats the job you take in as a starter, being able to play tough mins and being able to play B2B games.

We need to stop using B2B games as as an excuse, not just for Lin but for our entire team. every time we lose people say oh its a back 2 back our legs are weak, blah blah. this is the NBA, and B2B games will not go away anytime soon and a lot of the times the teams we play are coming off B2Bs also. Just learn how to deal with it. You can't be considered a star if you can only do decent/well when you have a day or more off

I made the above post 2 weeks ago after the Wizards game. Haven't updated yet but yea, Lin does not play well on 2nd game of back to backs.

Does that mean he should be excused for playing poorly on b2b's? Heck no... if you're consistently bad on it...work on it. Either the coach or Lin himself needs to learn to pace how he plays.

Edit - I actually forgot his Jan 5th game vs Cleveland where he played decent. ( 7/13, 20 points, 5 assists, 4 TO)

Lin expends way more energy on defense than either Harden or Parsons..

    As of today

Win Share / WS48 / salary this year

    Lin : 3.9 / 0.91 / 8.3M
    Dragic : 4.3 /1.02 / 7.5M
    Lowry : 4.9 / 1.66 / 5.7 M

Dragic has been more or less the same as Lin, slightly better but extremely marginal, Lowry has been the best of the 3 but the separation is like 1 extra game win, not to mention we couldn't have made the Harden trade without the Lowry trade.

Also, Lin is 2 years younger than both. he's also better than Dragic was in his age 24 season (though Lowry was great in his age 24 season, but was never close to that since.)

Really dude, D league? Those stats are bad and its true jeremy really struggles on B2B but cmon. Hes still giving you 11 and 5 which is at least good enough to be compared to a bench player. Please stop referencing him with the D league. Even before Linsanity everytime he would go to the D league he would put up like 25-10-10 and I think by now he has proven himself as a legit nba player. So please dont disrespect him by comparing him with the D league.

That being said Jeremy really needs to work on his endurance he is really just plain bad on back to backs he just seems gassed out

    LOL That is funny.

Seriously, we got a new troll who is surpassing all the previous trolls: sportsbook!

Before we had Spiegel, Gil, King1, all of whom seem to have gradually converted to a fair even slightly pro Lin poster. It will be interesting to see how long that troll stays on people's ignore list. :p
