I don't think Josh Smith's market is going to be anywhere near the bird right max, especially given his service time. I'm pegging it more like Nene's 5yr/$60mil. So I don't believe the whole Bird right will come into question.

Besides, I don't think Atlanta even wants to re-sign Smith. And Asik is the perfect complement to Horford.

If Atlanta didn't have Josh Smith, who would they have to choke in clutch situations and hand the game to the other team?

Dead on the money, with around what I was thinkin....
I hate the thought of having that lying two faced diva DHo on the Rox... but you can't turn down talent...

Personally,I think the play is to sign the best pf/c you can for a reasonable price (ie no max money to JSmith) - 10-12M/yr range... then flip him along with whatever spare parts (ie none of the big 4) and whatever picks we got - for Love or LMA...

Could the Rockets give Bynum the 4 year max, with the last 3 years of the deal to be team options?

What is so special about 2014? We aren't getting Lebron. Or Carmelo.

Is the big fish Chris Bosh?

Howard is so much better than Asik. Good god. The people who would rather keep Omer over Dwight are completely ridiculous. Omer is getting owned by Haddadi

Rox need another all star caliber player but these three guys are too big of a gamble. I'm not a fan of getting either one of them. Hopefully Rox can get a trade of some kind, like they were able to trade for Harden. No one on this team is untouchable other than Harden at this point.

Asik is unathletic with bad hands, thats why Harden has so many turnovers... He needs Dwight

    Bima,

where are you getting that information on Delfino and Brooks' contracts being fully guaranteed if they are not waived on or prior to June 30?

Bima is Mauri. Just know that if he's talking contracts and numbers, then it's as good as true.

Other than that, no to Bynum por fayver.

He may not be Mauri. But he must have a special connection to Morey to know that those contracts are fully guaranteed. The news media COMMONLY refers to non-guaranteed years as "team option" and while an actual team option does require that decision to be made by June 30, a simple non-guaranteed year does not.

If, as I suspect, those contracts are truly non-guaranteed, then that means Morey essentially controls those contracts for nothing until the season starts. But if they are true team options then the decision on them has to be made by June 30.

Shamsports is reporting Delfino's contract with the June 30th deadline. It is also reporting Garcia's contract as a team option. I don't know where they are getting that information on Delfino's contract. And I don't know where Bima is getting his information on both contracts since Brooks just signed a couple weeks ago. I would like to know where he is getting that.
