    Man if only Mauri was there calling the shots when we drafted Yao. Then again, we might not have traded for MerGady. Still though, to think what he could have done to surround Yao and MerGady (had that trade still happened) with decent players.

    No. I think he meant that JVG pushed him so hard he would have quit if it was his first year here.

    I can understand. It was very tough for him when he first came, not knowing the language and the culture and got ridiculed a lot by doubters. It might have broken him if the coach was too harsh. Lucky he got Rudy T who was the epitome of a player's coach.
