When you have enough "old" songs to fill a set, who cares if you play anything "new"? I get pissed when a band tries to sell me their new stuff when all I care about is the classics. It's strange that a Rush fan would be complaining about that. Maybe Rush plays a lot of new songs (wouldn't know actually), but it's probably b/c the singer can't do all the old ones anymore. It's certainly not due to the audience wanting to hear their new stuff.

I frequented the bar the main singer sang at in Hong Kong while I was in high school. Great great singer.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. So, you don't believe in bands actually improving over time. Good for you. Hey, as long as they play what was great 30 years ago. Who cares if their music since sucks? Sorry I have higher expectations than that. And, you obviously have no idea about current Rush or the mentality of today's Rush fans. Look...like I said...Journey is a nostalgia act and there is nothing wrong with that. If their fans are just happy with their old stuff and can ignore any of their new stuff, then good for them. As far as Rush, Rush would have quit a long time ago rather than settle for being only popular for stuff they did decades ago. Their new stuff actually sells really well and they have a huge fan base with most digging their newer offerings and they have the album sales numbers to prove it. The idea that Rush's fans settle for just old stuff like Journey's fans apparently will and do is just flat out wrong. Rush actually believes in improving on themselves and seeing results from their hard work on new stuff as in acceptance from their fans. That is why they can get away with playing most of their new stuff live...unlike Journey. That is why Rush is still around.

You sir are on very thin ice.

Rush was never popular. Truly great things never are.

People go to shows to be entertained and listen to music they connect with. Who gives a crap if its new stuff or old stuff. I went to the "Let it Be" tribute show and had a wonderful time with the all the grandmas and grandpas.

Bands that debuted before 1991 not named Metallica,U2,and Red Hot Chili Peppers have no chance to get their music played on the new rock radio stations. The classic rock stations will only play the new stuff so where exactly are they supposed to market their new stuff. I am glad a lot of them still release new material but I would totally understand if they just said **** it and did the greatest hits tours over and over.

They have been popular to its cult following which is rather quite large. They are just now finding more of a mainstream audience and getting much deserved recognition due to their documentary a few years back and hall of fame induction. Also, album sales don't lie sir. Good day, sir. I said good day to you, sir. :p

Again, Journey rocks...on that old stuff. Lol. It's fine for you'll and, if you'll are fine, then I'm fine. There is no controversy here. Sheesh. Well, except that you won't catch me at a Journey concert. I like following their story and hearing a classic hit tune occasionally.

I saw Journey in November up here in Calgary. The new singer is great. My only issue is that they played a lot of new material that I had not prepped for, and I was really in the mood for a Greatest Hits compilation. However, I enjoyed the show. Not sure if I want the new album. The old stuff just reminds me of being a kid, I guess.

They have 2 new albums with Arnel the first one revelations is probably more up your alley its a 3cd set and it has a cd of new material, a cd of re recorded hits with Arnel on vocals, and a live dvd.

You gotta be kidding me. I made plans to drive all the way out there for 7:30 showing tonight, and I looked to buy tickets online and it wasn't there anymore. I called their local number for the showtimes and they changed it to 1:30 today. It's playing right now, and I'm missing it.

I know I could just rent it online or try to look on demand, but I wanted to see it in a theater on a huge screen with amazing sound. FML.

Don't know if I'd be bragging about selling 200,000 albums, which it appears their new album has sold. It's not about "settling" for old stuff. It's about seeing/hearing the best stuff. Just because you sprinkle some new songs into your set doesn't mean you're not a nostalgia act. Rush isn't playing arenas because of their new music.

I saw them a couple of months ago. They were pretty decent for a bunch of 60 year old dudes.

I saw their Frontiers and Raised on Radio tours. The latter featured Randy Jackson filling in for Ross Vallory on bass. I remember my cousin laughing: "Holy s###, Journey's got a black guy!" Jackson had this major Mohawk thing working.

    Long time ago, Dawg.

It's good to see they accepted a Foreigner.
