Yeah, but its comical to see how overrated he is amongst Laker fans. If you read Lakersground, a bunch of posters consider Kobe to be a top 5 GOAT. Personally, I have him around #9 or #10 since the modern era.
When all is said and done, he could very well be a top 5 of all time. He is easily one of the top 5 offensive forces of all time for sure.
We're evaluating the choice of the Lakers to keep Kobe given the circumstances. Why would you talk about Shaq in his prime? Obviously the Lakers were looking further than "the next few years." They got 2 championships more out of Kobe versus the 1 they might have gotten out of Shaq. Plus he is still playing at a superstar level whereas Shaq is making it awkward on TV. There are no ifs or buts about it - the Lakers made the right choice and there really is no other interpretation that can validly be made about it.
With 40+ points and 12+ assists. I don't particularly like Kobe, but give credit where credit is due.
Haha, I did. He was fantastic tonight. However, the idea of him being a top 5 all-time NBA player is ludicrous and one game won't change that.
Kobe is definitely Top 10 All Time. The level of disrespect he receives from dudes sometimes just because they dislike him is laughable. His resume speaks for itself...
I was at the bar, in So Cal, some guy says "god I hope the rockets lose tonight!" Looks at me, im wearing rockets hat/jersey "No offense bro." I said to him "O, down to Toronto at home...Does dantoni have his 5 allstars in the game right now?" "better home Kobe does what Kobe does" And he did, sorry guys
