There are only 5 female governors, an absurdly low sample. Female representation at the state level accounts for 10% of all governorships. This is below women's rights stalwarts such as Pakistan, Sudan, hell Afghanistan, in terms of the percentage of women represented in their lower houses of Parliament. 50% of the electorate is female, so simply stating that a majority of governors are Republican would have less offally demonstrated your point.
