Lin is a symptom not the problem, it is just another form of poor game management. I'm willing to give McHale this season but should these tendencies of poor substitutions and game planning based around 3 point shooting or Harden making alcohol out of sink water continue he shouldn't be retained past this season.
I'm not sure why you keep riding this line of thought. The team has plenty of athletic, capable dunkers. As I said above, Smith, Robinson, and D-Mo can all fill that role. Tyson Chandler can't sniff Tim Duncan's jockstrap, so I don't know why you insist on comparing a HoF to Chandler. Lin does not need a HoF big man to excel.
We can have a beer at a bar I know of in that area. I'll find you a nice green woman to make things all better.
Do yourself a bit of good and research Lin's playing history a bit and if you still can't come to the conclusion that he's excel at every level that he's played at then I feel for your bias towards the guy. Let's closed our eyes and visualize a "black" guy that: 1. Leads a California high school to a 32-1 record and beat out a national power house high school to win a state title, averaging 15.1 PPG, 7.1 APG, 6.2 RPG, and 5 SPG in his senior year in high school. He was named first-team All-State and Northern California Division II Player of the Year 2. Let's now go on a tangent. He gets a full scholarship ride to a D1 school. In his 3rd year averages 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.1 blocks, and was again a unanimous selection for All Conference Team. He becomes one of 30 midseason candidates for the John R. Wooden Award and one of 11 finalists for the Bob Cousy Award. Let's see how high this "black" guy will be drafted? Let me see Wall was drafted first overall and averaged 16.6 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 6.3 APG, and 1.8 SPG. This is just all speculation and be "delusional" but Lin got shortchanged simply because of the "look" and nothing more to it. He has proven to be 100% legit at every stage in his career....the fight is still on in his NBA career, but someone just doesn't sign a $25 million check for nothing.
Hilarious, you really are LOFFs. Don't you have anything better to do and go around engaging LOFs all day? You are wasting bandwidth and just helping to keep Lin related threads alive.
We just started playing DMO and Robinson....Smith you kidding me? I only see DMO with potential but right now he's pissing me off with his previously crappy start. Every PG need a big man to excel you kidding me??????????????
Interesting that Lin said, "his brand of basketball." Mchale said that, by nature, Lin is a home run hitter, but he doesn't need that from Lin. I see conflict here.
1. Chris Paul 2. Tony Parker 3. Russell Westbrook 4. Derrick Rose 5. Kyrie Irving 6. Rajon Rondo 7. Deron Williams 8. Stephen Curry 9. Damian Lilliard 10. Jrue Holiday Vasquez, Wall, Conley, Lawson, Lowry There's no spot for Lin in the top 10 or even top 15. Potential doesn't get you listed in the top 10.
They are scared off as soon as they know you will be joining in any time. You are that powerful and frightening to Lin fans, don't you know?
Sadly enough this is true. As much as I think lin ha the potential to be top 10. Right now he's not even top 15. I think he could easily leapfrog to #9 if given the pt but that's jist not going to happen
Let me make this very simple; I don't give a rat's ass how any NBA player did in college or high school or how he looks or what race he is. It has ZERO bearing on his performance in the NBA. Players that excelled in high school and college that burn out by their first few years are numerous. It is an entirely different game going into the NBA. It has nothing to do with what color he is. He can be a Smurf and I would still be saying the same thing. Lin has done nothing yet to show he he is a good PG. He does not even have two seasons under his belt yet to show the consistency in performance that a good PG shows. As of now, he has been very inconsistent and definitely not worth close to the value his contract commands. You are free to think he is a good player right now; it's still your opinion even if I think it is dead wrong. I don't believe he is good and definitely I don't believe he has any sort of star potential.
The fact is that Lin's faced all those top 10 players and he stood even with every single one of them. You can't really compare stats on them with Lin because those players are the focal point of the team and has the ball in their hands pretty much all of the time when step on the court. We will never know how good Lin is on this team because of the ball sharing of Lin/Harden.
You can look at stats all day. What is your point? Seriously? Are you some sort of JLin hater? If some of those PG stats are soo elite how come their team sucks? Because they don't have Harden, Parson,etc...?? What exactly do you want for the rockets? Seriously????
lol, don't get angry at me because Lin's not top 15. I'm not looking at just their stat production, I'm looking with my eyes. Some of those players in the top 15 have the ball in their hands the same amount as Lin or even less, but they are able to produce better. You're the one who made the claim that he was better than some of the top 10 point guards. Don't say stupid stuff then get mad at me lol.
It has EVERYTHING to do with color....it's so easy to see from his basketball to his fanatic fans. I'm not just thinking that he's a good player right now, as I know that he's a good player. You think an average NBA Joe can just score 30 plus points on an NBA team on any given night? You don't care how players do in college, but the NBA teams do....you do well and you get picked higher. You know what that means...more money and a higer expectation to lead a team.
Something like that. The only way for Lin to shut up or be dropped dead by his critics was to come to Houston and be the primary option and see how far he could take the team. Unfortunately, Harden came into the picture so the discussion continues.......
