Clutch is wrong. Its called toeing party line and actually believing everything the FO and coaching staff is saying, just like 90% of the people in this thread. That said, we will believe in our boy Lin no matter what. No difference between the two sides really. But again unless someone provides advanced stats, I just don't buy that Beverly's D makes up for Lin's game other than Jeremy goes Linsanity on us, which he isn't allowed to. Look Lin has been our primary PG and the key facilitator in running the best offense in the league. Now, if Clutch and McHale thinks Beverly is what the team needs and fits better with the team then FRIGGIN START HIM. What's up with benching Lin whenever Beverly plays even remotely well.
I prefer Lin to say and do the right things, think positive, make the team the priority... AND I'll do the complaining. Where is the best place to complain about the benching in Dallas???
McHale's contract: "(on May 27, 2011)The Rockets and McHale, 53, quickly agreed Friday to a four-year contract, the final season at the team’s option." (http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets...o-four-year-deal-to-coach-Rockets-1684946.php) Morey has never fired coaches before. IMO, Morey/FO will not fire McHale before his contract expires in 2014. If they are really not happy with McHale's record in 2013/2014 season, they probably would not pick team's 4th year option. If McHale and Lin can't co-exist and one of them has to go next season, it will be Lin for sure.
In my personal opinion, if it came to that, I think the coach will have to go, and not Lin, because Lin will make so many things happen for the rockets organization off the court even if he hasn't proved anything until next season, and that's an extreme +1 rather than keeping McHale. McHale's daughter passed away this year, and I personally think the rockets wouldn't want so much pressure indulged upon McHale. Just my thoughts... not going against you or anything. Mr. D
Clutch is nuts if he thinks that Beverley is outplaying Lin. Bev has had some nice deflections. But if he doesn't get a deflection he gets burned over and over on the defensive end. It's pretty glaring when I watch it. Lin may get burned once in a while but normally is in the area to contest and force a lower percentage look. It's just nuts what McHale is doing.
Aren't you assuming that you both have a similar opinion of Patrick Beverley? Obviously Clutch regards him much more highly than you. In any case, if you don't know what he thinks about Beverley, his comment actually isn't so telling of how specifically he feels about Lin.
He obviously knows how much McHale hates him and wants to ruin Lin's career. True superstars know this sort of thing, but pretend to be unaware of it.
Who care? Team sports. The only thing counts is the team effort and the team chemistry. Can you "vet" honestly tell us Mchale's last 5 minutes call for all ISO plays will win Rockets all regular games? Not to mention PlayOffs or Finals. Get real. You "vet" (only staying on this board longer) do claim Rockets a team but keep posting individual stats to support your bias against any player. Lakers do have enough talents now. They still fight for a playoff spot. So what is so important about Harden's or Kobe's individual stat? Stop showing all you "vet"'s intelligence.
As an unashamed LOF, I would love to have a site for Lin only discussion that doesn't require hours or days for a reply. I accept it's annoying for regular CF members to deal with the deluge of LOFs and the multitude of Lin threads but as a International Lin fan (from UK), this is one of the livliest forums to get Lin views and discussion. I'm more than willing to try these alternative Lin forums and hope other Lin fans and LOFs follow and make a place for ourselves. Not all LOFs are zealots and all we ask is a little tolerance and patience while we find our own place to talk.
it is what it is. the stupidest phrase in american society. Also quite a revealing answer from Lin and that tells you he does not like Mchale and the injustice happening to him. Im glad Morey is the GM. Kevin Mchale's days in houston are numbered. He was never real Houston Rocket anyway. His blood still runs Green and east coast not southern south rocket red.
That's my problem with that site, just not enough mass. But we might have to start somewhere, go starting typing and if Pruyen (?) starts posting, it will be epic lol
Thoughts well taken. But do you really see Morey fires McHale, considering their Cletics background, considering McHale's family tragedy? Morey is a good guy and McHale is not a terrible coach (in my eyes, just meh). I just don't see the possibility of that happens. On the other hand, Morey has never been shy to move his assets and Lin has not been spectacular in his performance and clearly Lin and Harden are not best fit. That's why I foresee Lin being moved if there is a problem between McHale and Lin. Just my two cents.
You want a place to talk? Go here http://www.jeremylin.net/2013/03/rockets-warriors-game-63-pre-game-thread.html?m=1#comment-form Here's one of many gems on that POS blog.
What does Beverley's 3 weeks of NBA experience have to do with anything? How much much NBA experience did Lin have before Linsanity? Did you hold that against Lin, too? Aside from a few rookie mistakes here and there, Beverley has played very well. Lin has been up and down and although I believe that Lin has more upside/a higher ceiling than Beverley, I don't think he's significantly better right now.
OMG, you said Lin isn't playing significantly better than someone you think is playing very well. What a hater you are.
It's utterly hilarious! Oh the irony of lifting up a player who spent the first two years of his career playing summer league and signing 10 day contracts yet when another player with the same struggles plays well he's just a fluke.
