Can't see any of your videos at work. But one thing I am sure, Lin and Beverly are nowhere near Sam's level. As a matter of fact, we don't see Sam style post up, bump & step back jumper, in today's league from guards any more. Mid range game beauty is a lost art as shown in one of his educational videos.
Lol even Clutch is resorting to exaggerating Lin fan's points just to discredit us. Stop it. First, no one said you need to compliment Lin, it was about how you think Beverly's game makes up for what Lin brings to the table unless Lin has OKC type games. How did you reach this conclusion? Any advanced stats? Oh right, because Beverly is really active on defense, heck Lin would be too if his role was to bring energy off the bench and defend. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion but all we are saying is to put your starter in a position where it is actually Beverly's 4th quarter to lose then just start Beverly instead.
You are misunderstanding me. Please read my original response to your quote. And all my subsequent posts thereafter.... I'll save you the trouble, what I meant was that the comparison may be flattering (as in that would have been a compliment had he meant that Lin and Beverley were as good as Kenny and Cassell), but he wasn't saying that. He was just making an example and his main points in regards to Lin in that interview were not complimentary. He's entitled to his own opinion, but once again what he said about Lin was definitely not complimentary as you said it was. And no, he doesn't have to give anyone a compliment~ I just commented cuz I like Kenny and Cassell but thought you mispoke.
Remember this one Clutch? This was the #1 "Invisible Agenda vs " thread of all time How Can US Media Be So Mean To Yao Ming ? http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=124298
Conspiracy? If we are saying McHale thinks Lin is not as good and prefers Beverly as a player, how is it conspiracy? Is it THAT far fetched? Coaches always have preference for one type of player over others based on what fits the team better. No one is calling it a conspiracy but you guys. It only becomes controversial when YOU guys believe that the coach LOVES Lin over all other PGs on the team, no matter what and its PREPOSTEROUS for Lin fans to think otherwise.
Jesus Christ!! NOONE IS SAYING THAT THERE IS AN AGENDA!!!! NOONE IS SAYING THAT MCHALE PERSONALLY CANNOT STAND LIN!!!! NOONE IS SAYING THAT LIN IS A SUPERSTAR!!!! NOONE IS SAYING THAT LIN NEEDS TO PLAY 48 MINUTES A GAME!!!! Am I missing any other strawmen?? JESUS H CHRIST!!!! It's like talking to a wall for crying out loud!! Weren't most of you guys saying that Lin was just being sat to get some rest just a month ago? Weren't you guys even making fun of people saying that Lin fans want Lin to play 48 minutes, and that there wasn't a shred of evidence that McHale distrusts Lin? That Lin needs to rest too, so everyone should stop yapping everytime he sits? Well, since then, he's done even better, shooting higher percentages, playing with more confidence, with more consistency, but he's still sitting in the 4th in place of his backup. Now that it's so obvious that even you guys can't be blinded to the distrust in Lin, the story is Lin is a defensive liability? Come on. You guys are supporting anything anti-Lin, it's not even funny. McHale could talk about Lin's mama and I'm liable to hear a bunch of excuses on why that's acceptable, purely to not lose to Lin fans. Stop using strawmen and just support your players.
This conspiracy would be someone or something is forcing him to play Lin more minutes than his backup, despite him supposedly thinking Lin isn't a good player.
Were these words put into your mouth? Sorry, you didn't say agenda... you said compromised and unfair. I was way off. Wow... in the same post!
I'm all for freedom but this last wave of 2012 fans make me feel the need for a cleansing of sorts. At least we get the less egregious posters here. Check out this Forum http://www.jeremylin.net/?m=1
ok.... but for that conspiracy to be discredited, he has to play Lin more minutes or average minutes, which he is not. Lin is really below average in minutes played among all starting PGs. This with his backup being an nba rookie! Regardless of who is forcing him to do what, what majority of Lin fans are saying is that there is a possibility McHale just DOESN'T think Lin fits better than Beverly in his system, maybe he needs more D from his PG than what Lin gives and less offense which Lin doesn't. Not that hard to believe.
All Lin fans, either click the above link or this one: http://yaomingmania.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13&sid=78980d89ebee93dc9cd96c1b41bcc22c Seriously, no point arguing back and forth here. I think the user base there is picking up last few days.
wow, ppl are just busy on b****ing each other and keep the fight back and forth. no one really cares about our starting pg position. should we start beverley over lin if Clutch evaluation on beverley is right? i am not here to stir up something. i just want our rotation is much stabler and more understable.
Clutch, are you just doing it on purpose? I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt as you must read a billion posts, but just for clarification: When you say "You don't lose much when you bench Lin," I don't think you have an agenda against Lin, you're stating your opinion. BUT I believe it is an unfair assessment as Lin was great against the same team just one game ago, and was doing well in the game in question as well. I say you are compromised as well (my opinion). This means that the Lin fan phenomena has made you so sensitive that you argue with strawmen (e.g., you think I'm blaming you of having an agenda) and get upset at the slightest mention of a critique on McHale's benching of Lin when it is clearly a debatable move. As for saying that people are supporting anything anti-Lin, once again it's not an "agenda", noone is purposefully writing in their valuable free time from work to discredit Lin. But, it's clear that whatever complaints are made against McHale, right or wrong, most of you guys will argue that Lin fans are crazy. McHale recently said questionable comments in regards to Lin's game and benched him repeatedly when he was doing well. Can this not be a point of criticism?? Or is worrying about the future of our potentially awesome team (core of Harden, Lin, Parsons, Asik, D-Mo is awesome imo) not allowed if it has to do with Lin? And for the record, do you still feel that I said that you have an agenda?
In all my years of playing sports.... in HS, in college and semi pro.... I have never seen a situation like the "Lin situation" and his "fans".
i am not sure if you were on the board or not when yao was here. this is nothing compared to that time.
Clutch, Buy yourself a Kia and ask the Kia to take you back to 1999. It works for Blake Griffin <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WRIJBMIu2Xk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
For my sanity sake, YES START BEVERLY. At least I won't be scratching my head and getting pissed off when Lin is sitting on the bench after having a good game. Its so frustrating to see that it doesn't matter what Lin is doing, its always Beverly's minutes to lose instead of the other way around. Sampson did it, McHale is doing it. Just have Lin come off the bench for instant offense type role.
