I don't know. As I said to MadMax, I don't even know what we're all arguing about anyway! :)

This is exactly why I cannot stand them! 10 years ago I met a guy that moved in close to me that was a Rangers fan, because he had lived in DFW area all his life. He was the first real adamant Rangers fan I had ever met. During their WS appearance against the Cardinals, Ranger fans were everywhere. As much as it pained me, I pulled for the Cardinals just because I couldn't stand all the bandwagon jumpers around me. In a few years when the Rangers prove themselves once again irrelevant, I will be looking for those "Ranger Fans".

As much as I don't like the Cardinals, I have a lot of respect for the organization, and was happy to see Lance win.

And no f'ing way was I going to pleased with the other Texas team winning a WS before us.

Absolutely, as much as I hate the Cardinals, they have a habit of doing things right and have a fan base that was built over time not one that cropped up when they were good for a couple of years.

My biggest complaint with Cardinals is with their fans. They sure do like to pat themselves on the back a little bit too much proclaiming themselves the best fans in baseball. That said, I'm sure happy they beat the Rangers.

This is my favorite and the most accurate description of Rangers fans...

They will be something of a myth again in the near future.

Screw Nolan. He destroyed the entire Astros history by pushing for them to join the American League. You bet if Nolan was against the Astros moving, they wouldn't have moved leagues.

Apparently the Astros' purge of front office and on-field staff in the offseason might not sit too well with Nolan.

Ken Rosenthal: Ryan to Astros? Not likely

Nolan's friends removed. Nolan not interested.

    That's fine.

They're the front-runningest of frontrunner fans - please don't construe this as defending them (I lived there for 10 years and the Astros were a bigger talking point) BUT... in their ever-so-slight defense, sitting in that stadium, during the summer, can be BRUTAL. Afternoon games? Almost unbearable. Like, heatstroke level unbearable. I've done it. A lot. I love going to baseball games. If I lived in Dallas -well, Arlington (ha!), and was a Ranger fan... I'd be pretty choosy about the games I attended.

Absolutely agreed! Huge mistake to build an open air stadium for summer use in Texas when you're trying to draw in 3 million paid customers.

I went to an afternoon game there once - businessman's special. I vividly remember it for two reasons: 1) the number of fat jokes we made about Kirby Puckett; 2) me torching the clothes I wore that day because they looked like an obese person had a run a marathon in them.

    Absolutely BRUTAL.

Remember when they had the All Star Game there, and players refused to participate in the HR Derby because of the heat?

That...and the fact that the first aid crews were busy running through the stands treating heat exhaustion.

It's also the reason why they're the only team allowed to play Sunday night home games when they're not on ESPN.

    Jose de Jesus Ortiz ‏@OrtizKicks
"I don't have any comment on that," Crane said of Nolan Ryan. "Last I checked, he's got a job."

"If he didn't have a job, there might be a conversation," Crane said.

I asked Crane if he had met Nolan Ryan much, and he said, "I met him on the courthouse steps."

#Astros owner Jim Crane was asked about Nolan Ryan saga today. Doesn't seem he's angling to get the legend. He had a telling quote.

"Nolan was great in Houston and great in the Rangers," Crane said. "He’s got his Hall of Fame (plaque) where?"

Ryan is in the Hall in a Rangers cap. “There you go,” Crane said.
