Eh - good for him in that he's got enough Hollywood Capital to do projects he wants. Shakespeare stuff is always tricky, either have to rework it and drop the dialogue (which is critical to his art) or wedge the dialogue in a modern setting and let it just be weird. Wish they would make more of them as period pieces.
This thread went downhill once the FOFs showed up. I'm definitely seeing this Saturday afternoon at SXSW will dazzle you fools with tales of how great it was.
Yes it was and this trailer doesn't do much for me. Doing a Shakespeare film in a modern setting takes a very particular talent, Richard III with Ian McKellen from the mid 90's is another good example.
